<p>Last Tuesday was Ron&#8217;s birthday. We always spend his birthday one of two places, Walt Disney World or Texas Roadhouse. Well Disney is closed and takeout steak just wasn&#8217;t appealing. We invited Jordan, Savvy, and their roommate over for dinner and cake so we could have a small celebration. I decided to create a new roast recipe and try a new cake recipe too. I&#8217;ll post the cake recipe next week but today I&#8217;m sharing this new easy crockpot roast recipe.</p>

<p>This roast cooks for 8 hours in the <strong><a href="https://amzn.to/34Brkvj" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">crockpot</a></strong> on low. That was going to be a bit of a problem for me. I needed the roast to start cooking at 10:30am but I&#8217;d be babysitting at that time so I wrote out the instructions so Ron could start it on time. He said the recipe was super easy to follow, so that made me happy!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Easy Crockpot Roast Recipe</h2>



<p>The ingredients are basic, a 3-4 pound chuck roast, 1 cup of baby carrots, 2 russet potatoes peeled and cubed, 3 tablespoons of A1 Sauce, 1/2 tsp minced garlic, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 4 tablespoons of butter, and corn starch to make gravy after the roast is cooked.</p>



<p>Place the carrots and potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot. Place the roast on top of the veggies. In a small bowl mix together the A1, garlic, and pepper together. Pour that mixture over the roast. Slice the butter into pats. Place the butter pats on top of the roast. Cover and cook for 8 hours on low. When the roast is done, remove the roast and veggies. Add corn starch 1 tablespoon at a time to the residual juices until you get a nice gravy.</p>

<p>Weird title, right? My husband hates chicken salad, or any cold salad sandwich. He would rather starve. I&#8217;m picky about mine, no onion or celery, please. Well, recently I created a crockpot chicken dinner and as I was eating it all I could think about was how delicious it would taste cold in a sandwich. I was talking to a friend about it and she suggested a hot chicken salad sandwich, who knew there was such a thing?</p>



<p>When I served it hot I served it with veggies as an entree not a sandwich. Hubby and I both loved the creamy, cheesy, bacon, ranch flavor. I packaged up the leftovers and the next day I tried it cold in a sandwich and it was just as delicious.</p>

They not only carry great fruits and vegetables but they also have a deli, bakery, and butcher shop area. We have been getting more and more of our meat there because fresh tastes so much better! Since I was nearby I checked to see what meat was on sale. I picked up 2 ribeyes to use my <a href="http://themommaven.com/2017/06/steakhouse-rub/"><strong>steakhouse rub</strong></a> on, 1 pound of ground beef and 2 pounds of boneless country style pork ribs.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve tried lots of different ways to cook ribs over the years, but I&#8217;ve never written down what I did so I had nothing to go back to. This time I decided to add a little more flavor to my barbecue sauce and just make an easy crockpot recipe. We really enjoyed this recipe and I&#8217;ll be making it again.</p>

I make a delicious <a href="http://themommaven.com/2013/11/easy-cheesy-chicken-parmesan-recipe/"><strong>Chicken Parmesan</strong></a> but it is a bit labor intensive and since we were still trying to get our lives back in order after Hurricane Irma, I wanted something easy. So&#8230;could I make Chicken Parmesan in a crockpot? Hmm, chicken, cheese, pasta, sauce, yes I can do this! That is how this recipe was conceived.</p>

<p>I love how easy this recipe is and I was so glad I had done a crockpot meal because as we were preparing to sit down and eat, a friend from church stopped by with his chainsaw to cut down more of our tree that was damaged in the storm! Ron was outside helping with the tree so I decided to wait to eat. Jordan was starving to he ate right away. Jordan said this is now his favorite meal <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/14.0.0/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> When he was done eating he went outside to help with the tree. I waited for a bit but I was hungry so I ate a small portion. Finally, about an hour later, Ron was ready to eat and I ate another small portion while he ate. We all loved this recipe and it will be going into my regular meal plan rotation.</p>

My mom didn&#8217;t get a chance to eat this flavorful dish when I made it last week, but I am sure she would have loved it. I am going to warn you up front. This <strong><a href="http://amzn.to/1PV66In" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Crockpot</a></strong> Garlic Alfredo Chicken has a STRONG garlic flavor. If you do not like an over abundance of garlic in your food, you may want to cut the garlic powder in half to only 1 1/2 tsp. Don&#8217;t say I didn&#8217;t warn you. My husband was &lt;ahem&gt; revisted by the ghost of garlic past for the rest of the evening after eating this dish LOL!</p>

In our house if there isn&#8217;t meat, it isn&#8217;t a meal. Beef is my favorite kind of meat. The problem is other than ground beef dishes and steaks, I never know what to do with other cuts of beef. Like a basic roast. I know my mom and mother-in-law cook these on a regular basis, but historically they aren&#8217;t my favorite. I don&#8217;t like your basic post roast with all the veggies and stuff invading my meat. I eat it when it is served to me but it is never my first choice.</p>
<p>Recently I found a <strong><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004P2NG0K/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B004P2NG0K&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=mommav-20&amp;linkId=GVRQVSBNK7F5KEXI" rel="nofollow">crockpot</a><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" src="http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=mommav-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004P2NG0K" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" /></strong> roast recipe that resonated with me. It is a 3 Envelope Crockpot Roast which sounded easy enough, so I added it to our meal plan. On his next shopping trip I sent hubby out to find a 3-4 pound roast and the 3 needed envelopes. I made this recipe along with some veggie and my <strong><a href="http://themommaven.com/2013/09/review-kids-kitchen-cookbook/">Cheesy Potato Chips</a>.</strong> Anyone can make this recipe, it is so easy&#8230;and delicious!</p>

I&#8217;m sorry. There is a story here and it is a tad bit crass but, it is a family story and we decided it was a story we wanted to share. <h2>The Story of Walt&#8217;s Balls</h2>
<p>I have been making Grape Jelly Meatballs for years. I was introduced to them at a Women&#8217;s Ministry Meeting years ago and I had to have the recipe. I make them for holidays, potlucks and of course the Super Bowl. My dad, Walt, loved these meatballs. A few years ago he started a new job as a security guard at the emergency room of a local hospital. He worked mostly weekend overnights but filled in whenever he was needed. He LOVED this job and the people he worked with. The ER staff regularly celebrated birthdays and other holidays and celebrations with potluck meals. Dad always brought the Grape Jelly Meatballs. Quickly they became known throughout the hospital as &#8220;Walt&#8217;s Balls&#8221;. Doctors, nurses and other staff would ask him regularly, &#8220;When are we getting more Walt&#8217;s Balls?&#8221; Dad loved the crassness of them name and the fact that everyone loved his meatballs.</p>
<p>When daddy passed away on November 17, 2015, we all knew we had to make a batch of Walt&#8217;s Balls for the meal after his memorial service. We should have made several batches because as soon as they were put on the table, they were gone. Everyone, especially the hospital workers present, had to get one more serving of their favorite grape jelly meatballs.</p>
<p>I made Walt&#8217;s Balls for New Years Day and in our family, they will forever be known as Walt&#8217;s Balls no longer to be called Grape Jelly Meatballs.</p>

<h2>Grape Jelly Meatball Recipe</h2>
<p>This recipe cooks up nice and easy in a <strong><a href="http://amzn.to/1mG910D" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">crockpot</a></strong>. I prefer a good <strong><a href="http://amzn.to/1mG910D" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">programmable crockpot</a></strong> so that even if I&#8217;m not going to be at home, I can set it to start and cook so that the meatballs are ready when I need them.</p>

It makes cooking easier and I love that I can prep dinner in the morning and it is ready at dinner time. Today&#8217;s Ranch Pork Chops Recipe is simple and is perfect for a beginner but tastes delicious and has quickly become a family favorite at my house. This recipe only calls for 3 ingredients-how simple is that? We have decided that we like it best served over egg noodles but you can serve it with a salad and mashed potatoes just as easily.</p>

Last week I was trolling Pinterest and I came across a recipe for Sweet Baby Ray&#8217;s Crockpot Chicken that <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/226235581253595236/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><strong>Mary</strong></a> had pinned. The recipe actually links back to a page on <strong><a href="https://foodfolio.net/recipes/45477/sweet-baby-rays-crockpot-chicken/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Foodfolio.com</a>. </strong>I made this recipe for last week&#8217;s small group dinner and it was a huge it, and will become a regular in my easy recipes dinner rotation.</p>

We served the chicken with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob and it was delicious. It was gone before I could take any pictures of the meal on anyone&#8217;s plate! The original recipe called for 1 tsp of red pepper flakes but I thought that would be over kill. We all agreed there was just the right amount of kick to the sauce with only 1/4 tsp of the red pepper flakes added. The crockpot cleaned up quickly without really having to scrub, which makes this recipe even better <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/14.0.0/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>
