I love bar-be-cue chicken but I hate the mess. Last week I was trolling Pinterest and I came across a recipe for Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot Chicken that Mary had pinned. The recipe actually links back to a page on Foodfolio.com. I made this recipe for last week’s small group dinner and it was a huge it, and will become a regular in my easy recipes dinner rotation.

Ingredients

Ingredients

I whipped it up in less than 10 minutes Sunday before church, set it to start cooking at 11:00am and it was ready for small group at 5:00pm!

: Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot Chicken

: easy crockpot bbq chicken

Ingredients

  • 4-6 frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 28oz Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients (except the chicken) together in a bowl.
  2. Place the chicken in the crockpot
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Place the lid on the crockpot.
  5. Cook on low for 6 hours.

Preparation time:

Cooking time: 6 hour(s)

Number of servings (yield): 4+ depending on amount of chicken cooked

SBR Chicken
We served the chicken with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob and it was delicious. It was gone before I could take any pictures of the meal on anyone’s plate! The original recipe called for 1 tsp of red pepper flakes but I thought that would be over kill. We all agreed there was just the right amount of kick to the sauce with only 1/4 tsp of the red pepper flakes added. The crockpot cleaned up quickly without really having to scrub, which makes this recipe even better 🙂

Kathy, I’m glad you like it. I don’t see why you couldn’t freeze it. I never have though.
