September Top Traffic Referrals

I am so excited! September was the best month so far this year for The Mom Maven. Not only are my blog traffic stats great but my content has been picked up and featured by other outlets. Last night my Cheesy Potato Chips Recipe was #1 on TheNeeds.com food page! I’ve been doing the happy dance since last night I put a lot of work into this site and it is awesome when I get noticed, especially by other bigger sites.

I need to thank you because one of the stats that is up in September are my comments. In the blogging world, comments are currency. When a post creates a conversation in the comments and brands that visit a site see that they understand that you have a true community and they like to work with blogs that are active communities. So, thank you for being involved and for commenting. Comments make me happy!

Last month I told you I was so excited to learn more about G+ at Type-A Con. Unfortunately that was the only session I attended that was a flop. Everyone I talked to about that session was sad because they didn’t learn anything and most of us walked away confused. I did get some great advice from my room mate Sara from AllInAnIowaMomsDay, that I will be putting into practice and I will see if those numbers start to climb.

1. TheFoodExplorer.com-171 She added my Crockpot Chicken Recipe to her “Best Crock Pot Recipes on the Net for August” round-up!

2. Network.Latterdaylearning.org-20 They added my Edible Noah’s Ark Craft to their site.

3. MomSpark.net-16 She linked to me in an article a few months ago about Dole Whip and I am still getting traffic from it!

4. NotOneOrdinaryMomment-6 Back in April she listed my Win It Wednesday linky in her Top 10 Sites to find Low Entry Giveaways!

5. ContestGirl-5 One of the many places I list my giveaways.

The Biggies

1. Pinterest-4017 This is a HUGE jump

2. Google-3751 A bit lower than last month but still decent.

3. Yahoo-293 Moved up a spot from last month.

4. Facebook-270 Sliding down in the wrong direction.

5. Bing-188 Up a little from last month.

Twitter missed the top 5 for the second month in a row!

August Top Traffic Referrals

Overall August was a great month for The Mom Maven’s blog traffic. I was participating with The Hair Cuttery for their Share-a-Haircut promotion and I was part of the Ultimate Back to School Bash. Almost all of my stats have gone in the positive direction…except for Twitter and G+. I am very excited that I will be attending a session about G+ when I am at Type-A Parent Conference later this month. Maybe that will help me figure out the best way to use that platform.

Blogs and Small Businesses

1. Online Sweepstakes-95 lower than last month but still a good amount.

2. Tightwad in Utah-59 almost double last month

3. ContestGirl-31 double last month

4. MomSpark-8-more than last month

5. Paper.li-6 new on the list! I am usually blessed to be mentioned in at least one paper.li a day so it is nice to see even a little traffic from that source.

The Biggies

1. Google-4,158 not sure what caused last month’s very low number but things are back to normal now.

2. Pinterest-1,685 My recipe posts are bringing over tons of traffic.

3. Facebook-385 more than double last month’s numbers!

4. Yahoo-206 hasn’t been in the top 5 for a while

5. Bing-152 also hasn’t been in the top 5 for a while

Twitter just missed the top 5 with 146 referrals in August .

July Top Traffic Refferals

WOW! I can’t believe we are already talking about July’s traffic. (I know, I forgot to post June’s traffic…with the July 4th holiday I totally missed it!) Anyway, July was an average month for me. What has excited me most when I visit my Google Analytics is that my keywords are changing. This shows me that the work I am putting in on the SEO end of things is working!

Blogs and Small Businesses

1. Online Sweepstakes sent 142 my way in July! That is the highest since I have been keeping track!

2. Tightwad in Utah one of the other places I list my giveaways sent 30 people over in July.

3. Contest Girl, another giveaway site sent 15 people.

4. Swagbucks even sent some traffic my way. Six people found me at Swagbucks.

5. MomSpark.net sent 5 people over. I was quoted in an article about Dole Whip.

The Biggies

1. Pinterest 580-Pinterest outdid even Google last month!

2. Twitter 215-way down from where it should be considering how much effort I put into Twitter.

3. Google 202-This is 1/10 of what it usually is. I am working to figure out what happened here.

4. Facebook 180-That is an average month for me.

5. Publisher’s Clearing House sent 42 people over here. I am assuming this is connected to the post I wrote about their Forever Sweepstakes.

July wasn’t a bad month but I really need to figure out the Google thing because that has me concerned. How was your traffic last month? Did you blog about it? Leave me a comment and let me know.
