Each week I’ve been having to delete and blog people who add non-giveaway posts, crafts, DIYs, recipes etc. Then there are the people who add 10+ links! The rules clearly state 3 links max. Yes, I am a true Enneagram One who is a strict Rule Follower in most things and I get very frustrated when people don’t follow the rules. The rules are there to ensure a level playing field for everyone. I know not everyone agrees with my rules but…my blog, my rules.

Anyway, it’s kind of an extra quiet week around here because I don’t have to babysit. Aaron and Summer are on their babymoon (when did that become a thing?) in Gatlinburg and Harmony is staying with Summer’s aunt in Cleveland, TN. I’m thankful I’m still seeing daily pictures on Facebook because I miss my baby girl!

On the plus side, I have more time to get work done. I am taking two self-paced classes right now plus my book club so there is extra work on my plate. In 3 weeks I have one of my busiest weeks of the year so I am trying to get ahead in all my work areas because I will be out of the office just about the entire week.

Last week I told you we were going to Walt Disney World with near freezing temperatures so I thought I’d tell you how it went. Ron forgot his winter coat so all he had was 2 hoodies. Friday night wasn’t too cold at Disney Springs, it was in the low 50s. The Drawn to Life Cirque du Soleil show is A-MAZ-ING, go see it when you visit!

Saturday was 39 degrees when we headed to EPCOT. Worse than the temperature was the wind! Brrr! Thankfully temps rose to around 50 in the middle of the day and the wind dies down so the day was pleasant…until the sun went down. When the sun went down the wind started back up and the temps plummeted back to the 30s. I put my flannel shirt that I had in my backpack on over my turtleneck and under my coat, my gloves were also back on. Ron had on 2 hoodies and his gloves. January 29, 2022 now ranks as our coldest day at Walt Disney World ever, and I have been visiting for 49 years!

This Friday and Saturday we will be at Walt Disney World and we are going to be cold! Friday night could be 44° and rainy with Saturday having a high of 50 and a low of 33. Thankfully we will be on the road home before the 30s hit.

Friday afternoon and evening we will be at Disney Springs. For Christmas, I got Ron tickets to see Drawn to Life, the new Cirque Du Soleil show which opened in November. Then we have dinner reservations at Planet Hollywood Observatory. Saturday we will be at EPCOT enjoying my favorite festival of the year, EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. I’ve saved up some money to buy some new artwork and I can’t wait for the Disney On Broadway Concert Series!

I’m a NICU mom. My daughter never came home from the NICU and my oldest son was also a NICU baby. I haven’t been crafty in over a decade. I used to be an amazing scrapbooker until the kids got older and life got busy. I had all the stuff. Cleaning out my craft closet led me to find items I don’t even remember owning! I threw out so much stuff!

I did all this cleaning and purging because my sweet friend got me a Cricut Air 2 for Christmas!! I’ve wanted a Cricut since they first came out! It was definitely my favorite Christmas gift. I’m reworking my office so that I will have room to craft, hence the new desk. Saturday we are going to take an Intro to Cricut Class together, I don’t think it’s necessary since I’ve already learned a lot watching YouTube videos, but she hasn’t opened the Cricut she got for her birthday in June, so we decided to go together. Now I’m looking for Cricut Facebook groups to join. If you know of any, please share them with me.

This week I’ve been focusing on some goals for the new year. I have several bopping around in my head but only one has been committed to so far. I’ve joined an online book club through Anchored Women. We will be reading and discussing one book a month. I love to read, but seldom make time to do so. This year we have 9 non-fiction books and 3 novels so it should be interesting.

Yesterday Color Street launched a fun new collection of glitter overlays in the Frills and Thrills Collection. This collection consists of 3 sets: Raise the Roof-rainbow bar glitter, Fancy Pants-fuscia and rose gold glitter, and Have a Ball-navy and silver glitter. We are doing some new things with our family this year. We’ve added a Secret Santa and a White Elephant exchange and gotten rid of buying gifts for extended family. I still bought gifts for my kids, their spouses, and my granddaughter-no one can tell me I can’t do that. These changes were all brought on by the daughters-in-law, we’ll see how it goes.

We aren’t gathering as an extended family til 2pm, after Harmony’s nap. I’m hosting my mother-in-law, Jordan and Savannah for an appetizer lunch and I will give them their gifts then so we have fewer to open when we get to Aaron’s house.
