A lot of the recipes I have been making require shredded chicken. I have been making shredded chicken in my crock pot for so long now it didn’t even occur to me that not everyone knows how to do it! So, before I share another recipe that uses shredded chicken, I thought I’d show you how easy it is to make.
- 4 Frozen chicken breasts
- Water and/or Chicken Broth to cover the chicken
- Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Cover with liquid.
- Place cover on crockpot and cook on high for 4 hours.
- Remove chicken from liquid onto cutting board.
- Using two large forks pull or shred the chicken.
You can double or triple the recipe and freeze the extra in 1 cup packages.
You can double or triple the recipe, depending on the size of your crock pot. Use what you need for your recipe then measure out one cup portions, place each portion on a sheet of plastic wrap and wrap it up tightly. Place all of the portions in a gallon zippy bag and label the bag “1 cup shredded chicken portions” and the date. Place the bag in the freezer to use next time you need shredded chicken in a recipe.
Remember, any time you need a recipe, just stop by and click on the “Easy Recipes” tab at the top of the page. There are lots of easy recipes there for you to choose from.
