Ice Skating at SeaWorld Christmas Celebration

SeaWorld Orlando will be one of the few places Central Floridians can lace up and hit the ice. During the day, park guests will have the opportunity to ice skate at Bayside Stadium. Once night falls, they can sit back and relax as the pros show off what they got with “Winter Wonderland on Ice”. Christmas comes to life on a stage of ice, jewels, and lights as skaters dazzle and delight in this show-stopping, ice skating extravaganza. A sea of sparkling trees and towering fountains dancing in the background come together to create an experience the entire family will not want to miss.

All-New Magical Shows and Entertainment

There are even more ways for families to get into the holiday spirit this year at SeaWorld Orlando. At the end of the night during the Christmas Celebration, guests can be dazzled by the impressive “Holiday Reflections” fireworks show that showcases an impressive fireworks display set to the sounds of the season in the sky above the Sea of Trees.

Holiday cheer can also be found throughout the park with stilt walkers at the Waterfront and in Wild Arctic Plaza, jump-roping toy soldiers, and Elf Story Chair Stacking in Sharks Plaza. Guests also cannot miss the opportunity for photos with Santa, Rudolph and Bumble! Rudolph and Bumble have found a new home this year in Wild Arctic, while Santa can be found at his new workshop in the Shoppes at the Waterfront. The magical holiday fun continues in Sesame Street Land with the return of the popular Sesame Street Christmas Parade, where guests can see all their favorite Sesame Street characters getting into the holiday spirit. Elmo’s Christmas Wish is also back this year on event mornings at SeaPort Theatre. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Busch Gardens Christmas Town returns as the longest holiday celebration in the Tampa Bay area offering brand new experiences to celebrate the holidays and create memories to cherish for a lifetime. Christmas Town joyfully bundles millions of twinkling lights, uplifting shows, iconic holiday light displays, culinary delights and award-winning attractions such Iron Gwazi every day from Nov. 14 through Jan. 9. Running for 57 consecutive days, the beloved event is included with park admission.

New Activities

• New! Holiday in the Sky – The evening sky comes to life with a colorful display of festive fireworks while an added spectacular water fountain show dances to the rhythm of a reimagined soundtrack with classic holiday tunes. Holiday in the Sky will take place on the Festival Field on select event nights.

• Three Kings Journey – The musical tale of the three wise men famed journey to Bethlehem is celebrated at Dragonfire Grill. Only during select nights from Nov. 18 through Jan. 8. 
• Holly Jolly Express – All aboard for Christmas Cheer! The merriest train will transport guests into the celebration as they loop around the park aboard this sing-along journey playing the favorite songs of the season.  

There are lots of new and returning entertainment options but I was really hoping that “Christmas Is..”, “The Most Wonderful Time”, or “Christmas from the Heart” music spectaculars would be returning. I don’t ride many rides at Busch Gardens so the shows are what make me happy.

Of course we will be riding the Holly Jolly Express, that is a family must-do as is singing at the top of our lungs the entire ride. We are a family of musicians so its a lot of fun!

I have a friend who has been bugging me for over 2 years to take him to the media event, if there is one, so he can ride this coaster for me. Coaster enthusiasts are so excited to ride the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid coaster, right here in Tampa, Florida.

About Iron Gwazi

Being North America’s tallest hybrid coaster, this ride takes thrills to new heights, plunging riders from a 206-foot-tall peak down a 91-degree drop and reaching top speeds of 76 miles per hour. Iron Gwazi is Busch Gardens’ tenth coaster and an exhilarating addition to the park’s collection of thrill rides. The moment that our guests have been waiting for is almost here. Get ready for uncharted chills on the all-new Ice Breaker coaster! Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker will feature four airtime filled launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida – a 93 feet tall spike with 100-degree angle. The thrills continue as riders fly over a near vertical top hat maneuver into a series of exciting twists, turns, and airtime hills. The brand-new coaster will be located across from Wild Arctic and opens February 18, 2022.

While Ice Breaker isn’t a ride I’ll be going on, I sent the above video to Jordan to see if he would ride it, since he was the brave one who loved riding Mako at it’s media event. Hopefully we will be invited back so he can try Ice Breaker.

If you act quick, you can claim your free Preschool Card for kids 5 and under. You need to register online for the Preschool Card before 2-3-22 and it has to be redeemed in park by 2-28-22.

• Back by Popular Demand! Ignite: Surf the wave to a whole new level with Ignite, a firework and fountains spectacular that brings the brilliant colors of the sea to the skies above the park.  Guests may view the fireworks from all around SeaWorld’s large central lake, including from Bayside Stadium, The Waterfront, and the Orca Encounter Pathway. Showtime is at 10:00 p.m. during Electric Ocean evenings.
• Back by Popular Demand! Club Sea Glow:  As the sun goes down, the party amps up at Bayside Stadium, where a DJ will be mixing dance music for those waiting for fireworks to begin. Featuring dancers and high energy atmosphere acts, they are there to get the party started! Starting at 8:00 p.m. during Electric Ocean evenings.
• Back by Popular Demand! Elmo Rocks: Elmo and his friends save the day by forming their own rock n’ roll band after their favorite band cancelled their concert appearance! Elmo, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Bert, and Ernie go through the process of auditioning and rehearsals to transform into The Rockin’ Elmo Band. Awesome music, fun dancing, and audience participation are all included in this gnarly journey to put on the greatest rock concert ever! Show performs at Nautilus Theater during Electric Ocean dates.

The Show Will Safely Go On

Beginning Friday, May 28. “Turn It Up!”, the park’s award-winning ice-skating production and an all-NEW acrobatic show, “Cirque Electric,” modified operations in the park’s theaters will make it possible for guests to once again enjoy incredible shows as they explore Busch Gardens’ 300 acres of exhilarating rollercoasters and fascinating animal habitats. In addition to the park’s already strict health and safety measures, which include enhanced cleaning and sanitization, and **face covering requirements, many modifications will be in place at Busch Gardens’ theaters upon reopening, including:

• Significantly limited capacity inside the parks’ expansive theaters to accommodate plenty of space between parties.
• Staggered entering and exiting procedures to keep guests physically distant.
• Protective Face Coverings required by all guests (who have not been fully vaccinated-see below), ambassadors and performers at all times, covering the nose and mouth.
• No eating or drinking permitted inside the theaters.
• Hand sanitizing stations available at the entrance and exit points of the theater.
• Extensive sanitation of all seats conducted between shows.

**As of 5-14-21 the updated Busch Gardens Face Coverings guidelines are as follows:

Based on the recently announced guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, we are modifying our policy regarding face coverings at Busch Gardens Tampa and Adventure Island. Face coverings will no longer be required for guests at Busch Gardens Tampa and Adventure Island who are fully vaccinated in accordance with CDC guidance. We will not require proof of vaccine, but ask our guests to respectfully comply with our revised policy. All Busch Gardens, Adventure Island park employees will be required to continue to wear face coverings at this time. The safety of our guests, Ambassadors and animals in our care remains our top priority. We will continue to monitor and address this changing environment as necessary.

Walt Disney World has announced Disney After Hours BOO BASH will be coming to the Magic Kingdom on select nights from August 10- October 31, 2021. This 3 hour hard ticketed event will include some of our old Halloween favorites and some new ones too!

While we are still pining away for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, BOO BASH will give us Halloween spooks and treats…without the amazing parade and fireworks. in a Covid careful way. Now that fireworks are coming back to the Magic Kingdom on July 1st, guests are petitioning Disney to add fireworks to Boo Bash but, as of now, Disney has not announced that this will be happening.

BOO BASH Happenings

• Special cavalcades full of characters popping up throughout the night including “Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade” featuring Mickey Mouse and friends dressed for the occasion. In the “Disney Villains Halloween Cavalcade,” villains will take to the street and celebrate their favorite time of the year. “Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade” will feature Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie riding down the parade path to “This Is Halloween.” Maleficent will also make an appearance in the form of a fire-breathing dragon.
• Favorite friends lurking about, from the lovely Miss Carlotta at the Haunted Mansion to Goofy and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their Halloween best, with other surprise guests spotted across the park. Guests can also stop and listen to the Cadaver Dans during performances on Main Street, U.S.A.
• Complimentary snacks such as ice cream novelties and popcorn, along with select beverages included in event admission.
• Halloween, decor, music, and lighting
• Treat stops with plenty of candy
• Halloween-themed food and beverages for sale
• Disney PhotoPass available to capture magical and spooky shots throughout the night.
• Less wait times at 20 attractions including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion attraction, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain and more.

Costumes

All guests attending BOO BASH may wear costumes! You must also wear and approved face covering that meets the current safety guidelines. Guests under the age of 14 may wear a costume mask as well, if they wish. You can see all of Disney’s costume guidelines here. My friendly reminder about costumes at Disney is that it is HOT in August, September, and early October. Wear comfortable, lightweight costumes and bring a change of clothing for the young kiddos. Overheated meltdowns aren’t fun for anyone, take these hints into consideration when choosing your family costumes.

Boo Bash Ticket and Pricing Info

Boo Bash Tickets range from $129-199 for the 3 hour event. The $199 October 31st date sold out quickly. As of this update (6-20-21) 7 other dates are sold out as well. Prices are the same for adults and kids for this 3 hour Disney After Hours event.

Boo Bash event tickets will allow you in the park as early at 7pm and depending on the night, BOO BASH will take place from either 9pm-midnight or 9:30pm-12:30am.

All Disney After Hours events are open to a limited number of guests and offer low wait times to more than 20 attractions including The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
