Soft and delicious, these easy baked donuts with simple glaze make for a delicious breakfast treat.
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Place silicone donut pan on baking sheet and spray with non-stick spray. Set aside.
In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients-flour, sugar, salt, baking powder.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients-milk, extracts, melted butter, and egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each section about 3/4 of the way full.
Place in oven and bake 9-11 minutes.
Remove from oven onto wire rack that is on top of a sheet pan. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before removing from pan.
While they are cooling, make the glaze.
Mix together the confectioner's sugar, maple syrup, and salt.
Add in the milk 1/2 tsp at a time until desired consistency is reached.
You may need to add a bit more confectioner's sugar as well.
Add food coloring if desired.
Dip the Warm donuts into the glaze and back on to the wire rack to be decorated immediately.
Allow glaze to set for 30 minutes before serving or storing in an airtight container.
Instead of maple syrup in the glaze, you can substitute vanilla extract or any other flavoring you desire. Keep tasting the glaze as you are mixing so that you know when you reach the appropriate amount of flavoring.
