My dad loved to grill and each summer I miss him even more when I remember that I’ll never have the chance to eat delicious steaks and corn on the cob on my parent’s lanai. He passed his love of grilling on to my son, Aaron, who is an amazing grill master. My husband, Ron, is pretty good at the grill too, thankfully, because we grill year round in Florida. I recently received the Char-Broil Great Book of Grilling: 300 Tasty Recipes for Every Meal cookbook and I am so excited about the possibilities of new summer meals. The first recipe I decided to try was the Three-Way Steak Marinade.
I have another flank steak marinade recipe on my blog, which I love, but this one from Char-Broil is simpler yet more versatile. This is a three-way steak marinade recipe because with just a few tweaks you can make it Classic, Mexican, or Asian. I made the Classic version for my first try but I will be experimenting with both as the summer goes on.
This three-way steak marinade recipe from Char-Broil is versatile, with just a few tweaks you can make it Classic, Mexican, or Asian.

- 2 TBS Soy sauce reduced sodium
- 2 TBS ginger fresh minced

Marinate meat in a sealable plastic bag or covered container in the refrigerator for 4-24 hours.
Over medium-high heat, place meat on grill, discard marinade. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side.
Let steak rest 5 minutes before slicing.
Slice into thin strips, slicing against the grain.
All 3 recipes start with the Classic Marinade. The Mexican and Asian Variations have additional ingredients.
