10 Gift Ideas for Women and a bonus

While I love and appreciate a good surprise, who doesn’t, I come from a family that shops better when they are at least given ideas of things I want or need. I am probably not alone in my situation so I thought I’d create a list of gift ideas for the women in your life. Be they sisters, cousins, moms or friends-if you are going to get them a gift, make it a thoughtful one.

1. Jewelry-Jewelry doesn’t have to be uber-expensive to be appreciated. Some of these pieces from Ekocreashunz would look great under a Christmas tree. For a special occasion, you may give her a special ring from a jewelry shop like Gema & CO.
2. Books-Books are rather personal and we all have our favorite authors I’d be happy with the latest Karen Kingsbury or Beverly Lewis title.
3. Baskets-I love decorating and organizing with baskets, so a new Longaberger basket is always a welcome gift.
4. Purses-If she has a favorite Vera Bradley pattern or maybe she has been eyeing a Disney Dooney, Christmas would be a nice time to add a new purse to her collection.
5. Clothing-Personally I’d rather receive gift cards to my favorite store, that way I don’t have to return clothes that don’t fit.
6. Spa Treatments-A gift certificate for a mani/pedi, facial or massage is a great way to say, “I love you.”
7. Movie Tickets– A Fandango Gift Card is a handy gift that can be used any time.
8. Event/Concert Tickets-One word of caution here…Give her the actual tickets not an “I promise to take you to…” note. My friend’s husband promised her an evening at a huge concert for their anniversary last year and when he finally had the money for the tickets, the show has sold out. She was understandably hurt and sad.
9. Tuition-If there is a class she has been wanting to take but has been putting off, pay her tuition. I hope to take a Wilton Cake Decorating class in 2015 at Hobby Lobby. If someone paid my tuition as a gift, I’d be grateful.
10. Time-I say it all the time that I am more about spending quality time with people and making memories together. Plan to spend the day together and if needed, pay for nanny services. You could also to babysit for free so that she could enjoy some alone time-we all need that!

Holiday Guide-Book Review-Amazing Love by K. Dawn Byrd

Amazing Love by K. Dawn Byrd is a Christian Romance Fiction e-book that will make a great Christmas gift for the hopeless romantic on your gift giving list. You could just buy the book and email the link to them, or better yet…give them an Amazon gift card and a list of book suggestions that you think they would enjoy.

Synopsis:

Gabe Knight, a pastor in a small coastal town, finds his life is turned upside down when Dee Dillow arrives and hires him to remodel an estate she’s inherited from her aunt. Dee dashes his plans for wedded bless when on a drunken binge, she divulges that she’s the highest paid call girl in Nevada and part-owner of the ritziest brothel in the state.

Gabe falls in love with her, but can’t believe he’s hearing the voice of God when a still, small voice tells him to marry her. After much questioning, they marry and he is deliriously happy. Until, Dee betrays him.

Gabe soon discovers just how hard it is to have the unconditional love God calls him to have for his wife, the kind of love God has for his children. When faced with losing her, Gabe realizes what true love is, how much it hurts, and just how much God loves and is willing to sacrifice for his children.

My Review

I could not put this book down! It is well written and draws the reader in from the beginning. The characters are very easy to relate to and feel empathy for. Based on the Bible story of Hosea and Gomer, Amazing Love exemplifies what unconditional love truly is and how difficult it is to walk it out. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great romance. It is available for download for only $4.99 and is a great book to read while cuddled up in a cozy blanket sipping hot cocoa.
