I have had so many friends and family ask about this laundry soap that Jordan and I made a triple batch and I gave it as Christmas gifts for those who have been interested in it. Those who received it were excited and couldn’t wait to try it.
I’m going to write this as a long post with lots of pictures but at the end I will include the printable recipe so that you can have a copy for yourself. All of the ingredients are available on the laundry aisle of most Walmarts and grocery stores. I have included links to the products on Amazon for those of you that would rather get it that way.

This Quick and Easy DIY Laundry Soap Recipe takes about 5 minutes to make and works out to be about 3¢ a load! I was paying 17-20¢ per load with commercial laundry detergent. This soap is gentle on clothing and has no scent.

I am always looking for easy ways to save money and this definitely looks easy! I know you said it has no smell but remembering my Grandma’s Fels Naptha soap of old has me nervous, lol! I know it’s not the same but smell memories are the strongest! #smilebrilliant

I have seen something very similar to this recipe from 19 Kids and Counting with The Duggar family, where the mom makes her own detergent (obviously, as with 19 kids I can’t imagine the costs!!) I think it’s an interesting idea and for 3 cents a load it is most definitely worth it.

my apologies, I forgot to add in my hashtag in my comment for #smilebrilliant

You make it look easy! I think I’ve always been too big of a chicken to try my own cleaners/ detergents. I am afraid I would go wrong and either waste product or ruin my clothes! ha

I see people doing this and I even won some last year, but I never used it. My washer cost nearly $2k and I’m afraid it wont be HE safe.

You make it look so easy, but something tells me it isn’t. I’m not brave enough to test it on my own load of clothes, mind if we test it on yours?! 😉

It is that easy! I’ve been using it for 6 months on all of my laundry. I gave some to my mom for Christmas and she has asked for more for Mother’s Day. It is easy to make, saves tons of money and it cleans well too.

This is my favorite recipe I’ve used for years and years. It’s the most simple and most effective. Ones with more water separate, ones that are powder leave residue and don’t dissolve. This is the perfect simple laundry soap.
