It’s the new year and we are all trying to get healthier. I’ve been using Jimmy Pena’s PrayFit workout for the last two weeks as part of my #healthynewyear campaign. This is a great, well-rounded workout you can do at home. I did go out and buy some 2 pond dumb bells to use with this program and boy does adding a little bit of weight make a big difference in my workout.
The PrayFit 33-Day Total Body Toning System DVD is a 33-day complete workout and motivational system designed to tone, tighten and sculpt the body targeting resistance training and high-intensity, interval-style cardio. The project just became available nationwide on DVD, digital download, and On Demand from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
Jimmy is a well-known fitness guru who has served as the fitness director for Muscle & Fitness and Muscle & Fitness Hers. He has authored and edited thousands of articles on training and fitness- making him one of the nation’s most published training experts. Jimmy designed the women’s training programs for LL Cool J’s New York Times bestseller Platinum Workout, was the co-author of the New York Times bestseller Extra Lean by Mario Lopez and is the author of the bestselling PrayFit: Your Guide to a Healthy Body and a Stronger Faith in 28 Days. He was also recently named to the advisory board of SHAPE magazine. Jimmy’s clients have included Tyler Perry, Mario Lopez, and LL Cool J.
My Thoughts
I’m pretty much a beginner when it comes to this kind of workout. I like that Jimmy does a great job of explaining how to do each exercise and I can watch Haley for how to modify the exercises for my beginner status. The workout systematically focuses on each area of your body and does so in only 33 minutes. This workout hasn’t been easy for me, but I am getting better every day. I LOVE the spiritual concepts Jimmy weaves into the workout, reminding us that we are the stewards of our bodies and we must take good care of them. There are also mini-devotionals on the DVD call “PrayFit Minutes” which are nice tidbits to help you focus on giving your best effort. Jimmy’s tagline for PrayFit is, “In Jesus’ name we train” which encapsulates his mission for helping us strive for a stronger faith and healthier body.
I recommend this workout for anyone beginner through advanced who is looking for a well-rounded workout. There is floor work involved, and small dumb bells are recommended so be prepared for that. Jimmy Pena is a great motivator and I enjoy working out with this DVD.

I would love to win the new Prayfit dvd!! I have been having issues getting involved in non-biblical yoga that helps me feel good, but I need Prayfit to take me away from non-biblical activities and back to GOD. I have been away from reading my bible due to this yoga, and I just can’t seem to get back to GOD, I think if I were to win this dvd, my life would do a complete 180 and I would get back to loving GOD and myself and grow in a way I never thought possible!
