On January 12, 2017 Ninjago World opened at Legoland Florida. I hadn’t been to Legoland since the water park opened in May of 2012 and Jordan, my Lego enthusiast, had never been so we were excited to check out Ninjago World and the rest of Legoland Florida.

Ninjago World now open at Legoland Florida

Ninjago World is a relatively small area of the park just past Coasterasaurus. There were a lot of invited media and guests and we didn’t fit comfortably into the area. Luckily, Jordan was able to hop up on a short wall and take pictures during the opening ceremony because from where I was standing all I could see was the woman in front of me holding her phone over her head to try and get pictures. I felt really bad for the young kids standing to my left who were whining because they couldn’t see either. I also apologize for the photo quality but we were facing into the Florida sun.

There was a small stage with a narrator telling a story about Ninjago and how to Become the Ninja. Then to demonstrate the 5 ninja moves you need to do on the ride they brought out a local martial arts student and a celebrity to demonstrate the move. The celebrities present were from “Fuller House”: Jodie Sweetin, Soni Bringas, Michael Campion, Ashley Lioa, and Elias Harger, and from “Designated Survivor” and “Fuller House”, Mckenna Grace. The brief ceremony ended with a lot of confetti!

We then got in line to ride the ride. The queue area has interactive Lego play areas scattered throughout. There is also a video that teaches the 5 moves necessary for the ride. The moves are The Cobra, The Shuriken Shuffle, The Fireball Flinger, Chops of Fury, and The Lightning Strike. We enjoyed the ride, it is quite the arm workout. Jordan scored the 5th highest score of the day so far, of course, it was still early. Below is a video from Legoland about the ride.

Next we headed to the red carpet to meet the celebrities but because we had waited so long in line for the ride, the celebrities were leaving as we got in line. We were told by one PR person that they were moving to Miniland so we headed over there after turning in our media credentials and collecting our gifts and press kits. I shot the following Facebook Live video over there but we were asked to leave the area because this was a private event.?.

After that we enjoyed a few hours in the park. There were very few guests in the park so most rides had no wait at all! we enjoyed lunch at the brand new Pepper & Roni’s Pizza Stop. I have had my fair share of theme park quick service pizza and this was some of the best. The dough was a little sweet, which I like.

If you have children ages 4-10, Legoland Florida is a great place to spend a day. One day admission for guests 3+ is $73 if purchased in advance online, $93 at the gate. There are also multi-day and annual passes available. Visit Legoland for more information,
