I’ve missed a few weeks of Mamavation Monday’s, last week I was suffering from some severe jet lag. I’m still not allowed to exercise due to waiting on more results on blood tests surrounding my anemia. I’ve done great drinking my water and I’ve reached 6 months without caffeinated soda! (a feat I never would have thought possible). If you remember the butter debate of a few weeks ago I appreciate all of your input and I have decided to heed my doctor’s orders. I have switched to using Smart Balance as it is better for me yet still tastes like butter.

I’ll be trying to limit the treats this week but…it is Thanksgiving and the cakes, pies and sweet breads will be enjoyed without guilt. There will be a very early wake up call on Friday as dad and I head out verrry early on Black Friday to snag some bargains. Friday’s lunch will probably take place in a mall food court. Luckily the 2 malls we hit both have Subway’s in the food court so we can eat healthy.

I’ve actually missed exercising and am waiting for the doctor to give me the ok. My current fitness goal…IF I’m released on time is to train for the Royal Family 5k at Walt Disney World in February. My 15 yr old son and I are hoping to run this race together, the entry fee is $45 each so we will see what happens.

What are your thoughts on managing Thanksgiving goodies this week? Leave me a comment and let me know.

    Wow 6months! That’s amazing, congrats!

This will be the first time I am cooking for Thanksgiving so I’ve been conscious of the dishes I cook. I am most worried about portion control but we’ll see what happens. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow!! Amazing job on the soda!!! Good for you!! Is Smart Balance better? I think now that stuff isn’t as bad for you, right? Does it use soy? Oh the doctor told you to get off of butter? (Sorry, I think I missed all of this!)

Sounds so nice you’ll be doing a race with your son!! I hope my son and I do that too in the future.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Good luck on your training, that would be great. I try every year at this time to set goals on my eating holiday food, but I really love Christmas cookies! We are tryng to drink more water too, but it’s so hard, I have an addiction to diet coke, just one a day, but still…
