In the wake of all the negative press swirling around about Crocs I had to take a minute to declre my luv for Crocs. I am not a shoe diva, like some of my friends and relatives are. My shoe collection consists of my black heels, brown sandals, Tevas and 2 pairs of Crocs. I desperately need a pair of shoes to workout in but my odd shaped fit (wide in the front narrow in the heel) have made that very difficult as of late. Anyway, back to my Crocs story.

When I first saw someone wearing Crocs it was at Walt Disney World. An entire family, with strong British accents, were wearing what I thought were hideous brightly colored shoes with white socks. Now, I am no fashionista but these were some of the ugliest shoes I had ever seen and the socks made it worse. Fast forward about 6 months…suddenly some of my mommy friends are showing up at our monthly Bunko game wearing Crocs. “They’re comfy,” they say. Hmmm should I try them…nah. Then about 3 months later Mickey Mouse Crocs are all the talk on my Disney World Yahoo group. Everyone is talking about getting Crocs for their upcoming trip. Hmmmm Mickey Crocs could be cute. I check a few local stores that sold Crocs but none had the Mickey ones but…I did finally try on a pair of Caymans, ooo comfy. Now I knew I needed to have a pair of Mickey Crocs. I ordered them online and they arrived in time for our March 2007 extended family trip to Disney World. On that trip my luv affair was born.
I wear my Mickey Crocs 63% of the time!

I was shopping for some black, open-toed wedges to go with an outfit I got. I couldn’t find any that I liked or that were comfortable. Then for Christmas 2008 my hubby gave me a pair of Sassari Crocs. Luv them! I luv wearing them with dresses to church. EVERY time I wear them, someone comments about my cute shoes. Then I say, “Thanks, they’re Crocs.” Then their jaw drops because they can’t believe how cute Crocs can be. I wear my Sassari Crocs 6% of the time sooooo approximately 69% of the time I have shoes on my feet-they are Crocs!

Now I am not the only Crocs fan in my house. My youngest son, the Jibbitz collector, is on his 2nd pair of Caymans, he outgrew the 1st pair after 2 years and my oldest son lives in his Crete flip-flops. I am also excited because I will be getting a new pair of Crocs as some of the swag at IZEAfest. Yay me!!
Our family of Crocs. I will be a fan and wearer of Crocs for as long as Crocs is around, which I think will be a very, very long time. #crocs4ever
