I’m going to start with a confession, I have never read “The Hiding Place”. It’s been on my “I should read these books” list for decades but, I’ve never read it. You do not need to know the story of Corrie Ten Boom’s family story of putting their lives on the line to hide Jewish refugees at the height of World War II to appreciate this beautiful telling of her memoir. I am so thankful to The Hiding Place LLC for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

The Hiding Place is a story of faith, hope, love, and forgiveness in the face of unthinkable evil.

As Ron and I watched this film, we were drawn in. The Hiding Place script was written and performed on a stage as a play and directed both for theater and for film. That is a very unique way to do things. The set was simple but very effective. The acting was superb. The story is a difficult one to tell and some of it parallels the times we are living in now, which makes it more relevant.

The Hiding Place Synopsis

In the Netherlands, Corrie Ten Boom and her family risk everything to hide Jewish refugees by the hundreds and ultimately face the consequences when they are discovered.

It’s World War II. Darkness has fallen over Europe, and the boots of the Third Reich echo through the streets. But on a quiet city corner in the Netherlands, some choose to resist. Corrie Ten Boom and her family risk everything to hide Jewish refugees by the hundreds, and they ultimately face the consequences when they are discovered.

The Hiding Place is a powerful story that will encourage and inspire audiences to love and care for their neighbors in a deeper way.

The Hiding Place is their story—a story of faith, hope, love, and forgiveness in the face of un-thinkable evil.
This powerful cinematic presentation was adapted for the stage by A. S. Peterson, directed for the stage by Matt Logan, and filmed for cinema audiences in Nashville, Tennessee.

Unfortunately I’m not able to embed the movie trailer, but you can click this link to see it. https://youtu.be/rRjdKfnF18o
