Ingredients

  • 9 lbs country-style ribs
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar firmly packed
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 TBS minced garlic
  • 3 1 gallon freezer bags

Instructions

To Prepare for Freezing

  1. Place the ribs in a large stockpot and cover with water.

  2. Simmer ribs until tender, about 1 hour.

  3. Drain and divide ribs evenly among freezer bags.

  4. Into each bag, measure 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon garlic.

  5. Seal and gently shake each bag to combine contents.

  6. Freeze.

Food will stay at optimal quality for up to 3 months.

To Cook One Freezer Meal

  1. Completely thaw 1 freezer meal in refrigerator.

  2. Preheat oven to 350°.

  3. Pour ribs and sauce into an ungreased baking dish.

  4. Bake, uncovered, for about 1 hour or until sauce is thick and sticky.

Recipe Notes

  1. I ribs are in long strips, I recommend cutting them into smaller pieces.
  2. While ribs are simmering, label the bags with the date frozen, expiration date, name of recipe, and how to prepare the meal.
