Recipe: Orange Creamsicle Poke Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 Duncan Hines White Cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large egg whites

Filling

  • 2-3 oz pkgs Orange Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Frosting

  • 1-3.4 oz box Jello Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-8 oz container Cool Whip thawed
  • 1/4 tsp orange extract

Instructions

  1. Bake the 13x9" cake according to the directions on the box.
  2. Cool cake in pan 15 minutes then on serving dish 1 hour.
  3. Using a wooden spoon poke holes 1-2" apart and 3/4 of the way through the cake.
  4. Boil 1 cup of water
  5. Mix in orange Jello until dissolved
  6. Add 1 cup cold water
  7. Pour Jello over cake, into holes
  8. Refrigerate at least 1 hour
  9. Mix 1 cup milk and vanilla pudding mix
  10. Fold in Cool Whip and 1/4 tsp orange extract
  11. Frost cake
  12. Keep refrigerated until serving
