Walkabout 2014 Recap

Back in February I introduced you to the Walkabout campaign. I know some of you were signing up because you left comments here on the blog or around social media. How did you do? I didn’t do nearly as well as I had hoped. When I signed up, I didn’t know I would be working six 13 hour days in the middle of the month in a call center! Those days I woke up at 5am worked 6am-7pm came home ate dinner, took a shower and went to bed. No exercise or housework got done at all. I did get in 19 days of walking for at least 30 minutes and 4 of those days I walked over 6 miles each day! Overall I did what I could and that is all I can ask of myself. How did you do? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Vionic Zen Walker Review

I didn’t receive my Vionic Zen Walker shoes until near the end of the Walkabout Challenge. Unfortunately, the first pair they sent weren’t wide width so I couldn’t squeeze my feet into them. When the second pair arrived, the were wide width, but still a bit tight so I went to Pinterest because I knew I had seen a chart on different ways to lace your shoes for different foot issues. I re-laced my Zen Walkers with the wide foot lacing and the fit very well.

Vionic Zen Walker Shoes

These shoes are very comfortable and do a great job keeping my knee and hip pain away, even while walking a 5k and 7 miles a day on a 3-day trip to Walt Disney World! The comfort is due to the Orthaheel technology that is built into every Vionic shoe, even sandals! If you suffer from chronic knee, hip or foot pain like I do, I recommend you checking out the Vionic shoes. I’ve added a pair of the Maggie Adjustable Wedges in black to my shoe wishlist!

Disclosure: I received a pair of shoes for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% mine.
