On Saturday Ron and I visited the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. We love all of the festivals at Epcot but the beauty of the Flower and Garden Festival is just unrivaled. The Disney topiaries and floral displays have been a favorite of mine since my first visit to the Magic Kingdom in 1972.

A visit to the 2017 Epcot International Flower and Garden festival is full of sights, sounds, tastes and fun to entertain the entire family.

After checking out the topiaries in Future World we headed to a media luncheon where we were able to sample some of the delicious food offerings at this year’s festival. Yes, over the last few years the Flower and Garden Festival has added food kiosks just like the Food and Wine Festival because, who doesn’t like food. Our favorites were the Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalepenos from The Smokehouse, Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer with Steamed Rice and Coconut Lime Sauce from La Isla Fresca, Key Lime Tart with Toasted Meringue from Florida Fresh, and Warm Cheese Strudel with Mixed Berries from Baurenmarkt. There are so many food choices at this year’s Flower and Garden Festival everyone will find a new favorite to enjoy under the new Amerimax patio covers installed at the garden where the Festival is held.

We also had the opportunity to check out some of the new Flower and Garden Festival merchandise. I am in love with the new Dooney pattern, and all of the Figment themed items. We also met an adorable dog that works for Disney. His name is Captain Ron and he is a pocket beagle. He is an Environmental dog and has worked at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort detecting sea turtle nests so that they can be protected. He will be appearing in the Festival Center March 31, April 1, and April 2 on the Fresh Epcot Stage in “Getting Creative with Conservation”.

We did check out 2 new offerings at this year’s festival There are two interactive topiaries where you can have your picture taken in the topiary, we did the Snow White one in Germany. We also took a very informative and free Tea Tour in the UK. There are a few tours offered each day and they are limited to 20 guests. You must go to the Tea Caddy in the UK to sign up for the tour.

The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and it was a perfect day at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. The festival runs through May 29th. You can read more about this year’s festival on my other Festival Post and about the Garden Rocks concerts as well. There is plenty of time to plan your visit, just Email Me and we will get started.
Happy Spring!
