The Abide Bible arrived just as I was beginning a new Bible study for the summer, it was perfect timing. I don’t usually read the New English Translation of the Bible so this would also prove to be a good time to check it out as well.

About the New English Translation
The New English Translation (NET) is the newest complete translation of the original biblical languages into English. In the mid-1990s, a multi-denominational team of more than twenty-five of the world’s foremost biblical scholars gathered around the shared vision of creating an English Bible translation that could overcome old challenges and boldly open the door for new possibilities.
The NET’s uniquely transparent, accountable translation process has been crystalized in the most extensive set of Bible translators’ notes ever created. More than 60,000 notes highlight every major decision, outline alternative views, and explain difficult or nontraditional renderings.
Mom Maven’s Thoughts on The Abide Bible
I really enjoyed The Abide Bible. I love learning about the historical and social context of the Bible, it puts things into a clearer perspective for me. The beginning of each book includes an overview of the book, a section on historical and literary context, and a section to help you prepare to read the book, to set your heart and mind where they need to be to truly receive what is written in the book.
Before you even get into the Scriptures there are several sections including: Introduction, How to Use This Bible, Explanatory Notes, a 365 Day Bible Reading Plan. All of these help you prepare to truly abide in God’s Word.
Using The Abide Bible has helped me to dig deeper into my Bible study with the additional aids and context found throughout the book. If you are looking for a Bible that will draw you in, teach you and help you to abide in Christ as John 15:4 says, then I suggest you get yourself this new Bible.
