I moved this blog from Blogger to WordPress in November 2008. Since then, the look of this blog hasn’t changed. I have been wanting to change the theme and make other changes but since I can’t afford to hire someone else to do it, I’ve been putting it off. Starting today and hopefully lasting for the next week, I will be re-designing TheMomMaven for 2012.

I ask you to be patient with me as little to no new content will be put up here while I work on this huge undertaking. I am looking forward to great new adventures in 2012 and this new layout will help me put a fresh face on my corner of the web.

]]> Well, this is it. I have worked 3 months to reach this day. I have learned a lot about .html, .php, SEO, SMO and all sorts of other letter combinations I never knew existed before. Today is the day I say “Goodbye and thank you.” to Blogger/blogspot and “Hello!” to Word Press. I love Blogger and didn’t want to move but, in the last 3 months I have learned this move was necessary and inevitable. For Mom Maven to become what she is destined to become, I must own the content and that is not possible on this platform. I fought it tooth and nail but everyone I sought advise from told me it had to be done.

I’ll be spending the rest of today on the move. If all goes well, your links will redirect but-I’m doing this myself so who knows. I don’t have the hundreds of dollars that was asked for by the pros who move blogs for a living. This is why it has been a 3 month process of learning how to do this.

Lord willing by tomorrow you can check out my new digs. In case I mess something up and your old links don’t work-my new home will be http://themommaven.com. After today, please stop by leave me a comment and if you’re able-show me some link love as I rebuild my page rank, Technorati authority and all of those other things that get lost when you move. Thanks! I can’t wait for you to see what I have up my sleeve (a bookstore, Disney tips, e-courses, newsletters and awesome giveaways).
