The short answer is, YES! That answer isn’t very helpful though, unless I tell you why is it?

Everything in one place– Assuming you have created an information filled wedding website, all of the information your guests need is in one easy-to-find place. This will make your life, your wedding party’s lives and your families’ lives much less stressful as the big day draws near.

What Should Be On My Wedding Website?

1. Your story-Not everyone will know your story but most guests will like to know the basics.
2. Location-Guests need to know not only where the ceremony and reception will be held but how to get there. Having an interactive map on your site is a plus, especially for out of town guests.
3. Wedding Events-Bridal Showers, Bachelor Parties, the Rehearsal and Dinner can all be listed on your wedding website so everyone in the wedding party and invited guests can know what’s going on.
4. Hotel Information-If you have several out of town guests coming to your wedding you may want to reserve a block of rooms at a local hotel. Your wedding website is a great place to let guests know what you have arranged and link right to the hotel reservation page.
5. Registries-The wedding website is a great place to list and link to your wedding registries.
6. Photos-The photo gallery on your wedding website is the perfect place to share photos of your pre-wedding events for everyone to see.

How Do I Make a Wedding Website?

There are 3 basic ways to make a wedding website:

1. From scratch with Blogger or WordPress-This is the most time consuming but it will be totally customized to you.
2. Use a paid wedding website service like Wedsite.com or eWedding.com. The most expensive but worth it, especially if your wedding is more than a year away.
3. Use a free wedding website service like WeddingWire.com or TheKnot. The most frugal and limiting but a good choice for the budget concious with a wedding in the next 6 months.

My kids chose to use Wedding Wire for their website. It is free, easy to use and includes everything they need. We have included the website address on the wedding invitations, shower invitations and on Facebook.
