It is still so hot in Florida, I often just have is pulled up in a clip or ponytail for everyday wear but when I go out, I like to try different things. I have enjoyed checking out the hair style trends that TRESemme has posted about during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Since my hair is rather straight I use my curling iron a lot. Due to my neck/shoulder injury from a few years ago, I have a difficult time reaching the back of my head. This makes styling my hair a bit tricky. Summer has been trying to get me to play around with her wand and after watching this video from TRESemme, I think I’ll give it a try for a wedding we are attending this weekend.

I’ve got the Climate Protection Mousse and the Climate Protection Finishing Spray-doesn’t every woman who lives in Florida, I just need to pop over to Walgreens to pick up some Nourishing Rituals Hydrating Serum to have everything I need for this wavy look.

Don’t Wait for the Truck-Make an #IceCreamRun to Walgreens

My kids don’t have those memories. I don’t believe my boys have ever gotten ice cream from the Ice Cream Man that occasionally visits our neighborhood playing an off-key version of “Do Your Ears Hang Low?” Why? Times have changed. Repeated headlines of ice cream truck drivers luring unsuspecting children into their trucks to do unsavory things coupled with the fact that we usually have icy treats in the freezer year round here in Florida make the Ice Cream Man a dying breed.

Don’t wait for the truck! Head on down to your local Walgreens for an assortment of your favorite Unilever ice cream brands like Magnum, Frutare, Popsicle, Breyers and Klondike. We did just that last weekend. Thanks to weekly sales and our Walgreens Balance reward Card we were able to pick up 5 boxes of ice cream treats for less than $20! We got 2 boxes of Strawberry and Milk Frutare, 1 box of Heath Bar Klondike Bars, 1 box of Magnum Gold?! and 1 box of Magnum Double Caramel.

On Sunday night we get together with our friends for dinner and some fun. This week after dinner we played corn hole! I am pleased to say that I was on the winning team all 3 games!! We had a lot of fun and we will definitely be playing more as the evenings cool off.

After game 2 we took a break to enjoy our ice cream treats. Ron enjoyed the Frutare Strawberry and Milk bar so much that he had one then and another one later in the evening! Bob and Matthew each enjoyed a Magnum Double Caramel, Kim had a Magnum Gold?! and I enjoyed a Heath Bar Klondike Bar.

We all enjoyed our Sunday funday and it was nice to just pop into Walgreens to pick up our ice cream treats instead of having to wait for the truck or go to the grocery store. Do you have a favorite ice cream treat? I’d love to know what it is, leave me a comment and let me know.

MomMaven Saves at CVS 7-26-10

For years now I have been seeing some of my Twitter friends posting these awesome deals they get at CVS, Walgreens, Publix, Kroger and lots of other stores and I have been a bit jealous of all the money they saved. So, a few weeks ago I organized a “Super Couponing 101” class at my church and I had my college buddy Pamella Perkins come teach us how to save big.
