Peppermint Stick Lava Cake

Last Friday 12/18/09 myself, my son Jordan, Stefanie & her daughter and Heather & her daughter met at Friendly’s on University Parkway in Sarasota, FL.We were hoping a few more friends could join us but some were sick and others were busy with holiday activities.

The Peppermint Stick Lava Cake was the delicious hit of the evening. Jordan and I each had one and it was DELICIOUS! I don’t know how long it will be on the menu but I have got to go back and have another one before they are gone.

The little girls each had the kids 3 scoop Create Your Own Snowman sundaes, they were adorable. Heather and Stefanie each created their own Happy Ending sundaes.

We had a lot of fun getting to know each other-and eating ice cream. Hopefully we will be able to get together more often and have more Sarasota/Bradenton area Twitter users join us.

This all started with a pre-Thanksgiving discussion on Twitter with my friend Zannaland about our favorite New England brands that we can’t get in Florida, she lives about 1 1/2 hours north of me and stated that when she is really craving Friendly’s Ice Cream she goes to the one in Sarasota…the one near my house. Next thing I know MommyMusings and Mom2zandjsquare are each piping up on Twitter saying that is their Friendly’s Restaurant-we Friendy’s fans take this rather personally . So, this discussion began the planning for this Friday’s Tweet Up. While we were Tweeting EatAtFriendlys offered to send me a Friendly’s gift card, which I will be giving away as a door prize at the Tweet Up.

I already know what I am going to order on Friday too! I am going to have the new Peppermint Stick Lava Cake. It is perfect for the holiday with a warm chocolate cake filled with our famous hot fudge, surrounded by three scoops of our Peppermint Stick ice cream, covered with more hot fudge, whipped topping, green and red peppermint candy pieces, and a cherry.
