A while back Disney closed all 2020 ticket and vacation package sales. While this was frustrating for Disney guests, and travel agents, it was necessary to allow them to update their systems to include the new Park Pass system and to decide how to reopen responsibly in the COVID 19 era. As Disney Reopens its theme parks, 2020 resort package and ticket sales some information is changing daily. Make sure to stay up-to-date before your trip!

Ground markings will help promote proper physical distancing in attraction queues at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. These markings are one of several new and enhanced health and safety measures in place for the parks’ phased reopening beginning July 11, 2020. (Matt Stroshane, photographer)

One way Disney is moving forward is by not opening every resort on site right away. Current onsite resort openings are limited and other resorts will reopen in phases.

This phased reopening has been frustrating for some travel clients I have spoken with. Disney regulars all have their favorite resorts and it may not be available at this time. I suggest using this unique time to try a resort you haven’t stayed at before, you may just find a new favorite!

<img decoding="async" width="675" height="450" src="https://themommaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Mobile-Check-in-at-WDW-Restaurants-scaled-675.jpg" alt="As Disney Reopens its theme parks, 2020 resort package and ticket sales some information is changing daily. Guests receive a push notification on their mobile device when their table is ready; they can also begin the check-in process by scanning a QR code located in the restaurant’s lobby. (Matt Stroshane, photographer)

On June 9th Disney reopened 2020 ticket and package sales to the general public, with some great deals for Florida residents and passholders traveling between now and September 30th. These deals are up to 35% off your resort hotel.

I feel Disney is first rolling out offers to Floridians and Passholders because Floridians don’t have to worry about the quarantine in place orders since we live here. If you plan to travel into Florida from some states, there is a mandatory 14 day quarantine order in effect before you can enjoy all our state has to offer. Some states have a similar order in place once you return home after visiting the Sunshine state. Make sure you know what is required of you before you book your travel. A reputable travel agent will be able to make sure you are aware of all the rules in place at the time of your travel.

<img decoding="async" width="675" height="450" src="https://themommaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Goofy-Cavalcade-scaled-675-1.jpg" alt="As Disney Reopens its theme parks, 2020 resort package and ticket sales some information is changing daily. With traditional parades on temporary hiatus to support physical distancing during the park’s phased reopening, Disney characters will pop up in new and different ways throughout the day. (David Roark, photographer)

As Disney reopens other changes are happening as well. Some things are changing daily and will continue to change now that the theme parks are opening. Just this week a few things that have been changed or updated:

Neck gaiters are not allowed to be worn as a face mask Your mask must be at least 2 ply, cover your nose, mouth, and chin, fir snuggly but comfortably against the side of the face, and have ear loops or ties.

Disney’s Magical Express will not currently retrieve your bags from the baggage claim. You must claim your bags and take them with you to the bus. You must also bring your bags with you to the bus when you depart from your resort vacation.

Much to the delight of Star Wars fans, you no longer have to arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before the park opens to join the virtual queue to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The virtual queue will open, as availability allows, at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm daily to allow guests a chance to experience one of the park’s newest attractions.

I’m sure more tweaks and changes will come as Disney reopens Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this week. As guests, our job is to follow the rules, have fun, and be nice! All of the videos I watched of the cast member and passholder preview days have me excited and counting down the seconds until I am at the Magic Kingdom this Thursday, July 16th! Make sure you are following me on Instagram, Blog Facebook, and Travel Facebook for all my in park updates. next Monday’s blog post will have a full post about my first visit back.

It’s that time of year where I count down the top 5 posts published on The Mom Maven in 2016. Today we are tackling the 5 Top Travel Posts of 2016. This year all 5 have to do with special events at Walt Disney World. As you know, I am a travel agent with Destinations to Travel, a Disney EarMarked travel agency. I am excited to let you know that we won the 2016 Disney EarMarked Top Sales Award! I am so proud to be a part of an agency that works hard to plan magical vacations for their clients. If you would like to plan your magical vacation, please Email Me

Top Travel Posts of 2016

5. The Lion Guard Adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Unfortunately, the Lion Guard Adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was a short-lived. This scavenger hunt through the park to find the characters of the Disney Junior TV show, The Lion Guard was a fun added adventure to your family’s day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Thankfully, Disney keeps adding these fun, interactive activities to their parks. Who knows what they will think of next.

4. New Summer Fun at Walt Disney World

While this post outlines lots of new offerings that started in the summer of 2016 at Walt Disney World, all but two are still available to guests. The “Frozen Games” are no longer taking place at Blizzard Beach. Also, “Jungle Book: Alive with Magic barely lasted the summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We saw this show and June and we were bored, especially after the long wait to get into the theater.

You can now ride Frozen Ever After and meet Anna and Elsa in their Sommerhaus in Epcot. I highly recommend Mickey’s Friendship Faire in the Magic Kingdom as well as many of the other new events and attractions that were unveiled this summer.

3. 2016 Candlelight Processional at Epcot

The 2016 Candlelight Processional at Epcot was an amazing experience as always. This year we saw Robby Benson narrate the Christmas story and I swooned! He even did a little of his Beast voice in his opening and closing remarks! As always, there was a wonderful selection of narrators sharing this Christmas tradition.

2. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2016

We love attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and 2016 was no exception. It really helps us Floridians get in the Christmas spirit, especially while temps are still in the 80s! The Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and the Holiday Wishes Fireworks are not to be missed.

Even though we haven’t been invited to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party the last 2 years, I wanted to make sure you knew what not to miss. This is our #2 favorite Disney event all year, second only to Candlelight Processional. Check out this post, or pin it for later so that you know what not to miss when you attend next year’s event.

If you follow me on Facebook or subscribe to my weekly newsletter, I have been telling you bits and pieces of my newest endeavor. Here, today, I’m making my big announcement! I am now an Independent Travel Agent with Destinations to Travel, LLC. I couldn’t be more excited!! I love traveling and I am a firm believer that making memories with our kids is much more important than buying them stuff.

There is a lot to learn in my new chosen field but I have completed my Disney training and my Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line training. If you are considering a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, a Disney Spa & Resort, Adventures by Disney or Royal Caribbean, I would be honored to help you plan your magical vacation. Daily I am training in new locations so if you are interested in Celebrity Cruise Line, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Sandals or Beaches resorts hang in there, I’m working on it.
