April Beauty Box 5 Product Review

April’s Beauty Box 5 box had 5 products, 3 of them were full size and those three retailed for $39.94. Add in the other 2 samples and this box was a great value.

Global Beauty Care Green Tea Makeup Remover Wipes

These wipes cleanse and nourish your face while they remove makeup and the grime of the day. I have used many brands of makeup remover wipes and these work well. For me, I’m not a huge fan of the green tea scent on the wipes but at $1.99 a package I cannot complain about this value. Soapbox Sea Minerals Body Wash

This body wash has a soap=hope program, for every product sold, a bar of soap is given to a person in need. At first I was excited when I started pouring this body wash onto my poof and it was creamy, (I hate gel body wash). Unfortunately, the scent/fumes seriously irritated my eyes so that my eyes started itching and watering almost immediately. I rinsed of quickly and then washed with my regular body wash. I checked the label and didn’t recognize any ingredients I am allergic to. I did throw the bottle away, just to be safe. A full sized bottle retails for $5.99.

Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigments

This lip and cheek color is bold! A little sure does go a long way. When I first opened the pot I was afraid of the bold color but once I put it on I really liked it. This powerful double duty punch of color retails for $19.95.

Chella Passionate Pink Moisturizing Lip Pencil

I have worn this as a lip liner (see photo above) and a full lip pencil. This pencil is long-lasting and hydrating which are pluses in my book. It retails for $18.00.

Maskeraide All Eyes on Me Hydrating Eye Gels

These cooling gel patches reduce puffiness, while they brighten, hydrate and firm your skin. Put them on and relax for 15-30 minutes. I received one or more of the products or services mentioned for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.I have to be honest, I was less than impressed when my May Beauty Box 5 shipment arrived. It included 2 tools, hand soap, lotion and 1 make-up. When I shared the box on Instagram I said I was most excited about the Coastal Scents Eyeshadow brush, and I was right! I have been needing a new, higher quality eyeshadow brush and now I have found one. This brush works great and allows me to put on a good amount of eye shadow in one swish of the brush. I need to check out what other brushes are available from Coastal Scents.

The other tool in this box was a Bio Swiss Stainless Steel Mini Tweezer. I am not a tweezer girl, I only use them for removing the very occasional splinter. The Essenza Luxury Hand Soap is nice but, I make my own so this went in the travel bag. The Styli-Style Blush/Highlighter Stick was much nicer than I thought it would be. the color complimented my skin tone well and I will be using this regularly. Lastly I received the Dermalogica Active Moist lotion. It is a nice lotion but I could never justify the $60.00 for 3.4oz cost!

Since I fell in love with 2 products with a retail value of about $6 plus I received 3 other decent products, overall I’d call this Beauty Box 5 a win. Not the best box ever but It more than broke even on the $12/month subscription.

My box did arrive later than usual but this month has been just crazy. Again this month I loved most of the products in the box and I can’t wait to tell you about them!

MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask-Retails for $5.99 per mask. I have never used anything like this before. I enjoyed having the cool mask on my face, it was both refreshing and relaxing. This was very easy to use and it left my skin feeling very soft. I would love to use this product again.
H2O Plus Aqualibrium Marine Cleansing Gel-Retails for $18.00 120ml. This facial cleanser, made with sea salt and energizing marine botanicals left my face feeling clean and fresh. I have already popped this tube into my travel bag so that I can have a fresh face on my next excursion.
Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths-Retails for $2.97 for 10 cloths. We packed these cloths in our backpack for the 24 hour Rock Your Disney Side Party, knowing we would need to freshen up along the way. Unfortunately, none of us liked these cloths at all. They were not cooling and the powdery feeling was mildly refreshing. We were all much happier when I pulled out our usual wipes and baby powder.
Harvey Prince Hello-Retails for $55.00 5.7oz. I like this perfume. It is a perfect light summer fruity scent. I also brought this with me to Disney and it did help me feel and smell better as I battled temperatures in the upper 90s!
CATTIVA Precisione Eye Liner-Retails for $20.00 0.012oz. This eye liner is great. It is a retractable pencil which goes on smooth and is waterproof. Compared to other eye liners I use, CATTIVA’s lasted longer on my eyes and is smudge-resistant. I am happy to add this to my beauty arsenal.
