We have done the Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens twice. Once during the day with our kids and once at night during a media event. The safari is always fun but it becomes extra special after dark. On February 14th you and your Valentine can take a walk on the wild side on a special Valentine’s Day Night Safari where you will venture through Edge of Africa to witness the active nighttime behaviors of hippos, lions and hyenas, lit only by moonlight and handheld lanterns. Then, on the Serengeti Plain, use night-vision monoculars and special filtered lighting to view free-roaming herds of giraffes, zebra, rhinos and other intriguing African animals. After your amazing animal adventure, cozy up around a roaring bonfire to hear colorful tales of African folklore.

This nighttime experience runs from 6:30-9:00pm and begins and ends in the exclusive Safari Club. You will enjoy savory appetizers and adult beverages before the excursion, and a special nightcap completes the evening with champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Wild Africa Trek Part 1

Disney’s newest tour Wild Africa Trek is now taking guests deep into the Harambe Wildlife Preserve. As with all the Disney tours, guests get to go deeper into the magic. Unlike most other tours though, this is not a behind-the-scenes or backstage adventure. Throughout Wild Africa Trek guests are on stage, closer to the animals on the Harambe Preserve than ever before.

The Facts:

Trekkers must be at least 8 years of age and 48″ tall, guests under age 18 must have an adult accompany them
Trekkers must weigh between 45-310 lbs
The Trek lasts 3 hours
There are no more than 12 guests on a trek at a time
Cost varies seasonally-Introductory price of $129 per person + theme park admission is good through 2/26/11
All trekkers will receive photos taken by a Disney photographer during the trek
A meal is included in the trek please note any dietary restrictions when booking your trek

The Fun:

Trekking with experienced guides through areas of Harambe Wildlife Reserve that aren’t explored during regular Disney’s Animal Kingdom experiences.
Navigating winding pathways through dense fern, bamboo and vine forests on a bushwalk that sets a course for adventure.
Clipping into a harness attached to a safety line, crossing a seemingly precarious rope bridge over the Safi River and cliff-hanging at the edge of gullies that are home to hippos and crocodiles.
After pausing at an overlook above the grasslands for breathtaking views, boarding customized open-air vehicles that course through the vastness of a magnificent savanna. Extended time is allotted for animal viewing with expert guides.
Unwinding from an unforgettable adventure at a private safari camp for viewing of wildebeest and giraffe, elephants and gazelles, eland and antelope. At this station elevated above the savanna, guests savor this panorama of wildlife and sample tastes of Africa as their adventure draws to a relaxing and satisfying close.
