I met Monica founder of The Online Mom at a Twitter Party Site Warming a few months ago. We share the same passion for keeping kids safe online and educating parents about the dangers of the online world and what they can do to protect themselves and their children. The Internet has added a whole new level of “world” for our kids that we didn’t have growing up. Most of us are learning about this world along side of our children. We as parents need to be involved, ask questions and read reviews of games and websites before allowing our children to participate. I run a very tight ship when it comes to social media, texting, games, movies and television programs in my house, I always have. Parents must take control of all media that is being consumed by their children.

The Online Mom is building a network of moms who are concerned about online safety. They asked me to review Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party for Wii as part of that network. As you know, my boys are 14 and 16 but I have only allowed 1 video game rated “T” in my house so far and that is a Tony Hawk game, I warned you I run a tight ship. Prior to receiving this game for review we had never played any of the Rayman Raving Rabbid games because of the crude humor we had seen on the television commercials. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party is rated “E 10+” due to animated blood, cartoon violence, crude humor and mild language. After playing this game, I would definitely not allow anyone under 12 play it due to the crude humor and mild language.

The premise of the game is that the Rabbids get struck by lightning and end up inside the television running amok on Rayman’s favorite shows. Each time slot on the television schedule is a different type of mini-game for you to play. There are music games, races of all sorts and even dancing. We played as a family and had a lot of fun. There is a lot of shaking and moving of the Wii remote and we all had sore arms after playing 2 days of the TV schedule.

This game can be played in solo mode, party mode, training mode and world contest mode-all of our play has been in party mode. You need to have Wii remotes and Nunchucks to play, and it is Wii balance board compatible.
