In case you aren’t aware, according to UNICEFF 1.2 million children are trafficked each year. Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing crime! Don’t think it just happens elsewhere, human trafficking has been reported in all 50 states. In a 2014 report, the Urban Institute estimated that the underground sex economy ranged from $39.9 million in Denver, Colorado, to $290 million in Atlanta, Georgia. It is everywhere, especially in major travel hubs. We all need to do our part to stop the atrocity.

Inspired by real events, CAGED NO MORE is the story of Aggie Prejean, a grandmother on a desperate search to find her two granddaughters, Skye and Elle, who have been kidnapped by their sinister father. As the details behind the girls’ disappearance begin to unravel, it’s discovered he has taken them overseas to be sold into slavery to settle his drug debt. Aggie enlists the help of the girls’ uncle, a well-respected local philanthropist, and his son Wil, who is former Special Forces. A global hunt ensues, and the team will stop at nothing to see the girls safely returned home. CAGED NO MORE is a drama meant to engage and educate audiences on the realities of human trafficking.

Mom Maven’s Thoughts

I have not been blown away by a movie since I saw War Room over a year ago. CAGED NO MORE had me on the edge of my couch for the entire movie. The script is well written and the movie is well cast. Loretta Devine is amazing as Aggie, we all need someone who loves us as much as she does for her family. Alan Powell does a wonderful job showing both the strong and caring sides of Wil.

I’m aware that human trafficking is a very difficult subject, but it is an important one. I hope you will buy the Caged No More (DVD) and share it with your teens, small groups and Sunday school classes. If you visit the CAGED NO MORE website there is a downloadable 4 week Bible study available for free. This movie is PG-13 and I agree with the rating, this movie is too intense, and the subject matter is too mature for kids younger than 13 to view.

About God’s Not Dead

Present-day college freshman and devout Christian, Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper), finds his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by the dogmatic and argumentative Professor Radisson (Kevin Sorbo). Radisson begins class by informing students that they will need to disavow, in writing, the existence of God on that first day, or face a failing grade. As other students in the class begin scribbling the words “God Is Dead” on pieces of paper as instructed, Josh find himself at a crossroads, having to choose between his faith and his future. Josh offers a nervous refusal, provoking an irate reaction from his smug professor. Radisson assigns him a daunting task: if Josh will not admit that “God Is Dead,” he must prove God’s existence by presenting well-researched, intellectual arguments and evidence over the course of the semester, and engage Radisson in a head-to-head debate in front of the class. If Josh fails to convince his classmates of God’s existence, he will fail the course and hinder his lofty academic goals. With almost no one in his corner, Josh wonders if he can really fight for what he believes. Can he actually prove the existence of God? Wouldn’t it just be easier just to write “God Is Dead” and put the whole incident behind him? God’s Not Dead weaves together multiple stories of faith, doubt and disbelief, culminating in a dramatic call to action. The film will educate, entertain, and inspire moviegoers to explore what they really believe about God, igniting important conversations and life-changing decisions.

In a nutshell…GO SEE THIS MOVIE. Yes, I am a Christian. No, I can’t defend my faith as well as the character of Josh does in this movie, even though I should. I do know that if for no other reason than for you to make your own decision on the question is God dead or is He alive, you should go to the movie. I do know that on campuses across this country, students are being coerced and threatened into denying their faith for the sake of their education-if you don’t believe me, watch the movie credits and see all of the legal cases cited surrounding this topic.

God’s Not Dead has a great cast, script and soundtrack and I am excited that it is slated to open in theaters across the country on March 21, 2014. You can check out the God’s Not Dead website for a list of theaters where it will be showing. Also on the website they have downloads like computer wallpapers, Facebook covers and avatars as well as posters and other items for getting the word out in your local community.
