Last month I was introduced to HydroChic when I entered another blogger’s giveaway to win an outfit from them. Living in Florida I am always looking for comfortable, modest swim wear and active wear. As a plus size girl, that is a combination that is difficult to find. When I found HydroChic, I knew I wanted to give them a try. I didn’t win the giveaway, buy HydroChic contacted me to do a review and giveaway for them!

I chose to try the Tidal Tank Sporty Sleeveless Swim ‘n Gym Top and the Ruched Runner Swim Skirt. I am always leery when I order clothing online because of my size and shape. I am happy to say that by following HydroChic’s sizing guide, the pieces I received fit very well and were comfortable.

I wore the suit to my mom’s birthday party last weekend. She has a pool and I knew we would be swimming so I brought it with me. I wanted to try it in the water and I wanted to get the reactions of my family members to the suit. Interestingly enough, the adults all had the same input…the pants/capris are too long, and I agree 100%. I would rather shorts that come to the edge of the skirt. The top is perfect, I love it! My 13yo nephew laughed at me when I went outside to swim with him. I love that the suit has a UPF rating of 50+, I want my skin protected from the sun whenever possible. I also love that the top comes with a separate swim bra and you can choose if you want it with cups or no cups. This made the top even more comfortable.

While this isn’t my ideal suit I will wear it again. It is great for waterparks, beach picnics and to wear on shore excursions on a cruise vacation. I will also wear it this fall as active wear when I start my 5k training again.
