In the Orlando area you can connect with nature.

• Visit Wekiwa Springs State Park and rent a canoe or kayak and spend some time enjoying one of Florida’s two Federally Designated “Wild and Scenic Rivers” Canoes and single kayaks rent for $16.98 for the first two hours while double kayaks rent for $22.30-each additional hour is $3.00.
• Visit Rock Springs Ranch and go horseback riding. They offer 1, 2 and 3 hour guided trail rides as well as an all day ride. Prices start at $37.00 per person.
• Go on an airboat tour with Boggy Creek Airboat Tours. They offer several different tours and prices start at $25.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids 3-10.
• Go on an EcoSafari at Florida EcoSafaris. Go zip lining, ride a canopy cycle, go on a coach safari or a horseback safari, no matter which options you choose this will be an adrenaline rush day you will never forget. Prices vary depending on which safaris you would like to take part in so visit their website for more information.

In the Orlando area you can have fun learning.

• The Orlando Science Center has something for everyone for the low price of $19.50 for adults and $14.50 for kids 3-11.
• Visit the Wycliffe Discovery Center to learn about the art and science of Bible translation through hands-on exhibits, multimedia presentations and games. Adults $8.00 students grades 1-12 $7.00
• Let your imagination run wild at WonderWorks.  Prices vary depending on what you want to experience. Prices start at $6.99 for a single game of lazer tag and go up to $44.99 for general admission, a lazer tag game and the Outta Control Dinner Show.
• Visit the Holy Land Experience, a living Biblical Museum with 25+ exhibits. Adults $40.00, Students 6-18 $25.00 Children 3-5 $10.00.

In the Orlando area you can have fun shopping.

• Festival Bay Mall is a great family shopping destination. it includes a Vans Skatepark, Putting Edge Fun Park and Monkey Joe’s for the kids and Bass Pro Shops, Ron John Surf Shop, Sheplers Western Wear, SwimMart and the Universal Orlando Store for mom and dad.
• Orlando Premium Outlets is my favorite place to shop for Crocs and Vera Bradley items!
• The Mall at Millenia is where you go for all of your upscale shopping ie Pottery Barn, Tiffany & Co., Macy’s etc.
• Downtown Disney is a great place to experience the magic of Disney…without paying an admission! Shop, dine, see a movie and even float in a tethered balloon while surrounded by Mickey and his pals.

I hope this post gives you some ideas of what you can do in the Orlando area without hitting a theme park. I have yet to try most of these activities, but I’d love to! I have shopped at Festival Bay Mall, the Orlando Premium Outlets and Downtown Disney and I recommend them all!
