Mom Maven’s Thoughts on e-cloth

I didn’t clean my bathroom sink for 2 weeks so that I could give the e-cloth a good workout. I read the directions on the package. Dampened the thick cloth and used it to clean the sink in the faucet. Then I used the thinner cloth to shine the surfaces. Yes, it is difficult to really see in the pictures above but the e-cloth did a great job. I can’t wait for hubby to try it when he cleans the bathtub this weekend. I love how easy it was to clean and shine my sink and faucet without using any chemicals.

I was only able to use 3 of the products the Wood Cleaner, Hand Care Dish Liquid and the Natural Laundry Detergent Packs. I couldn’t use the Stainless Steel Cleaner and the Granite Cleaner because I don’t have those surfaces in my home. The Wood Cleaner did a very good job cleaning my table. It didn’t leave any residue like some cleaners I have tried. The Hand Care Dish Liquid did a great job cleaning my dishes and it didn’t leave my hands feeling dried out when I was done doing the dishes. The natural Laundry Detergent Packs did a great job of cleaning our clothes, though they cost about double what I usually spend on laundry detergent.

The biggest disconnect for me is I have come to believe that my house is clean when it smells clean. Unfortunately that “clean” smell is usually caused from chemicals. The Seventh Generation products don’t have these artificial fragrances so even though my house is clean it doesn’t smell that way. This is something I need to re-train my brain about because by using Seventh Generation products, my home is cleaner and healthier than it is when I use my other cleaning products.

I’m the first to admit that I am just not a huge “eco-friendly” mom. I don’t search out or spend more on products that are eco-friendly. On the other hand, I am all for trying these products and honestly willing to switch to them if they work better and are cost effective. The latest of these products is the SKOY cloth. My SKOY cloths arrived just before Christmas and we put it through its paces during our Christmas baking marathon.
