Frito-Lay All Natural Giveaway

Who doesn’t love chips? We eat a lot of chips and I was happy when I heard the news that about half of Frito-Lays products will be made with all-natural ingredients by the end of this year. Available now on shelves nationwide, all Tostitos tortilla chips, Lay’s potato chips and SunChips multigrain snacks are made with all-natural ingredients. All-natural means that they start will all-natural potato or corn, add healthier oils and all-natural seasonings; no MSG, partially hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives here! This all leads to a healthier snack option.

At the Frito-Lay Flavor Kitchen at its headquarters in Plano, Texas, Frito-Lay’s team of chefs use real foods and recipes to inspire new flavors of Frito-Lay snacks. For example, the flavor for Lay’s Garden Tomato & Basil potato chips was inspired by a tomato basil sauce that you’d put on pasta or use for dipping bread.

I had the opportunity to sample all three all-natural varieties in the top photo and they are delish! We shared the Tostitos with our friends at game night and everyone enjoyed them. I brought the Sun Chips to the middle school girls class I teach at church and they devoured the bag before I could have a taste. I am savoring the Tomato & Basil chips because they are like eating a delicacy, not a potato chip!

This is Chicken Soup for the Soul week here at The Mom Maven! Get ready for lots of books and lots of great giveaways.

I am a bookworm, I love to read-especially love stories. Lately I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to curl up with a novel and really spend time enjoying a good book. This is why I love Chicken Soup for the Soul: True Love 101 Heartwarming and Humorous stories about Dating, Romance, Love and Marriage. The essays and short stories in the Chicken Soup for the Soul books are perfect for me to read in short bits of time.

The stories are broken down into categories How we Met, Adventures in Dating, Meant to Be, The Proposal, The Wedding, Keeping the Love Alive, Lessons in True Love, Happily Ever Laughter, Gifts from the Heart and Love Everlasting. One of my favorite stories is “When You Wish Upon a Star” about a 4th grader’s dream of marrying the 9th grade boy that lived next store.

When my boys were probably 3 and 5, instead of giving them traditional Easter baskets full of goodies, I decorated a small tote bag for each of them and filled that with their Easter treats. Parenting Book Review and Giveaway

Leslie is a writer, professor, wife and mother of six children which range from a college student to a kindergartener who lives in Kodiak, Alaska. Leslie writes with an honest transparency that is refreshing-especially in a parenting book.

Mrs. Fields does not claim to have the answers to all of our parenting struggles; she does expose the myths and thought patterns that are prevalent in Christian parenting. Fields debunks 9 parenting myths including:

Myth: Having Children Makes You Happy and Fulfilled
Myth: You Will Always Feel Unconditional Love for Your Children
Myth: You Represent Jesus to Your Children
Myth: If Parenting is Difficult, You’re Not Following the Right Plan

This book is an easy read, but it takes time to digest. I would suggest taking several days on each myth. Read the chapter one day, study the suggested Scriptures the next and then spend time with the reflection questions letting them marinate in your spirit for a while. This book would make a good study for a couple, parenting class, small group or women’s ministry.
