]]> I know buying Christmas gifts for children can be difficult, especially if the child isn’t yours or hasn’t given you a wish list. I only have one such child on my shopping list right now and I know him well enough to get him a gift that suits him perfectly! Maybe you have nieces, nephews or grandchildren and you aren’t sure what is appropriate. Maybe you need one more gift for a child of your own and you are stumped. Perhaps a plushie would put a smile on their faces. I’ve put together this list of 12 gift ideas for kids from brands I have owned or used. I fully recommend each of the brands on this list. 12 Gift Ideas for Kids ages 5-10

Just in case you didn’t find exactly what you were looking for I thought I’d offer some general suggestions of toy categories for this age group.

  • Building Toys-Boys and Girls love to build with blocks, LEGOs and K’nex. Just make sure the building kit you purchase is age appropriate for the child’s abilities.
  • Books-Diary of a Wimpy Kid, American Girl, Little House on the Prairie and Captain Underpants are all popular book series for this age group.
  • Board Games-classic games like Twister, Trouble and Connect Four are great for this age group.
