Pizza is a staple meal in our home, we do frozen, takeout and even make it from scratch. So I was excited to have the opportunity to review the new FRESCHETTA® By the Slice and see if we could add it to our freezer on a regular basis. I like the idea of being able to microwave one slice of pizza at a time because with everyone coming and going we don’t all sit down to lunch together anymore. On the other hand, I was also a little wary because we all know how microwaved pizza usually turns out hee hee.

I was was pleased to see that they FRESHETTA By the Slice sold for under $2.00 at my local grocery store, that makes it a viable lunch option in my budget. I chose the Six Cheese Medley. The other varieties available are BBQ Recipe Chicken, Vegetable Medley, and Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom.

The pizza slice comes in its own microwaveable cooking tray. When cooking the pizza make sure you read all directions and look at the pictures carefully. The directions are VERY specific as to where to place the pizza in the microwave during each phase of cooking.

The truth is in the tasting soo…The cheese was delicious, though my 15yo thought it needed more cheese. The crust was very good not too crunchy and not too chewy…just right. The sauce was not my favorite, I am very picky about pizza sauce, but my son LOVED the sauce so, to each his own. Since my son loved it I will definitely be buying more so he can enjoy them for lunch.
