My obsession with Friendly’s Restaurant is well documented 🙂 It is now soaring to a new height…I am hosting a Tweet Up at the Friendly’s Restaurant on University Parkway in Sarasota, FL this Friday 12/18/09 at 7:00pm!

This all started with a pre-Thanksgiving discussion on Twitter with my friend Zannaland about our favorite New England brands that we can’t get in Florida, she lives about 1 1/2 hours north of me and stated that when she is really craving Friendly’s Ice Cream she goes to the one in Sarasota…the one near my house. Next thing I know MommyMusings and Mom2zandjsquare are each piping up on Twitter saying that is their Friendly’s Restaurant-we Friendy’s fans take this rather personally . So, this discussion began the planning for this Friday’s Tweet Up. While we were Tweeting EatAtFriendlys offered to send me a Friendly’s gift card, which I will be giving away as a door prize at the Tweet Up.

I already know what I am going to order on Friday too! I am going to have the new Peppermint Stick Lava Cake. It is perfect for the holiday with a warm chocolate cake filled with our famous hot fudge, surrounded by three scoops of our Peppermint Stick ice cream, covered with more hot fudge, whipped topping, green and red peppermint candy pieces, and a cherry.

While I’m there I’m also going to pick up some Friendly’s Gift Cards to give as Christmas gifts. Did you know that when you buy $25 of gift cards at a Friendly’s Store you get a $5.00 gift card free? Bonus!

To enter the Contest, log onto www.Friendlys.com/ThePitch and follow the directions to enter between September 14, 2009 – November 15, 2009. In order to participate in this Contest, you are required to register at YouTube.com and become a “subscriber” of the profile. Entrants must complete the entry form by listing his/her name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth, gender and YouTube video URL. ]]> It is no secret that my family loves eating at Friendly’s. Jordan and I just got home from eating lunch at Friendly’s. Aside from a yummy lunch, we were also there hunting down sprinkle vision codes.

Jordan is taking part in the Friendly’s online game/sweepstakes “Mission Delicious”. Kids ages 6-14 can register and play fun online games and gather codes in the restaurants. The points won in the games and from entering codes translate into entries into the sweepstakes. There are several drawings taking place during the contest period. Twenty-seven kids will win free Friendly’s ice cream for a year! Five kids will win a tour of the Friendly’s ice cream factory, tickets to Six Flags New England and a $25 iTunes card. The 1 grand prize winner will get to be in a Friendly’s commercial, $25 iTunes gift card and a Flip video camera.

What will it be Hunka Chunka, Mint Chocolate Chip, Black Raspberry, Butter Crunch….? I’m thinking maybe it’s time to try something different. Instead of my usual Vienna Mocha Chunk I’ll try…Watermelon Sherbet, I haven’t had that since I was a kid!

I grew up in Massachusetts and that means, I grew up on Friendly’s. Friendly’s was the restaurant my parents took us to to teach us our “restaurant” manners. Friendly’s has always been family friendly and affordable. I was so excited when, a few years ago Friendly’s opened just a few miles away from our house! I could share my love for Friendly’s with my kids.

A few months ago Friendly’s introduced the $9.99 Create Your Own Friendly’s Meal. It is a great deal as it includes your drink, entree, side and a 2 scoop Happy Ending Sundae for less than $10.

Friendly’s has recently introduced new items (for a limited time only) to the menu including the Cheeseburger Club, Buffalo Bleu Burger and Apple Walnut Chicken Salad.
