I do find the price for these trendier clothes to be a bit higher than your typical Disney tees. The tops in the collage below range from $32.95-$36.95.

Other than clothing, Tren-D also offers accessories, ie. purses, jewelry, make-up and totes, including this bag for $34.95.

My favorite is the Original 1762-hold the horseradish please. That is, of course, unless it is the Christmas holiday season when their Holiday Sandwich is available. This is Thanksgiving dinner on an Artisan roll…turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce…I know it sounds gross but try it, you may be as surprised as I was! Jordan always gets the Cannonballs (meatball sandwich) while Aaron gets the Chicken Caesar Wrap and Ron orders the Chicken Caesar Salad.

I can’t believe this picture was taken 10 summers ago!

A visit to Downtown Disney isn’t complete without spending time at Once Upon a Toy. Even now, at 16 and 19 my boys still love to stop in and make a Mr Potato Head or check out the latest Disney video games. Back in the day, our favorite thing to see was the toy monorail display. The boys each have a monorail set so they always enjoyed looking to see what new accessories were available.

They reached their goal so I printed out my coupon and took it to the factory store in Osprey, FL, along with a few that became defective and shopped. Unfortunately, the Tinkerbell design pictured above is only available at Walt Disney World, so I will have to pick it up next time I am over there. I did get 5 new tumblers though! I got Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Disney Fairies and 2 Disney/Tampa Bay Rays (one of which I gave to my dad).

How to make a Ridemakerz car

If you don’t know what Ridemakerz is the easiest way to describe it is…Build-a-Bear but with cars and trucks. We had a lot of fun watching Jordan build his car. Being a Ford man he went straight to the Mustangs and got started. He had done his research on the Ridemakerz website so he had a good idea of what he was going to do before he got there.

Jordan chose not to make his car a remote control car because that would have put him over budget. Here is a video of our trip to Ridemakerz.
In the end Jordan spent $46 and change on his car. A week later when we were back at Downtown Disney he decided to get the hood scoop he had chosen not to buy on the first trip and he is already saving up for another trip…hopefully he will save enough money before Ridemakerz leaves Downtown Disney this fall!

If you have a car guy or gal in your family I recommend a trip to Ridemakerz so they can make their dream ride.

About a year ago we saw an ad for RIDEMAKERZ and Jordan, my Chip Foose wannabe wanted to visit one, unfortunately there wasn’t one in Florida. Yesterday he saw Disney Park’s announcement of the new store on Twitter and he came running into my office to tell me about it. I am pretty sure we will be making at least 1 trip to RIDEMAKERZ during its limited stay at Downtown Disney.

The Characters in Flight balloon is the world’s largest tethered gas balloon. The 72 feet in diameter balloon is filled with 210,000 cubic feet of a lighter-than-air gas. The gondola is 19 feet in diameter and can hold up to 29 guests plus the pilot.

I was very excited when I saw on my Florida Mom Blogger’s Mixer itinerary that we would be riding Characters in Flight, weather permitting. I have wanted to fly in a hot-air balloon for years and I figured this ride would be a good test to see if I was comfortable “floating” in the air.

Saturday morning was rather windy and when our group of 13 arrived we were told they could only take 4 of us at a time. So, we took 2 groups of 4 and our hosts (aka the chickens) chose not to ride. The view was magnificent! When you are 400 feet up in the air you can see for about 10 miles. You can easily see The Contemporary Resort, Spaceship Earth, Expedition Everest, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Typhoon Lagoon as well as the downtown Orlando skyline.

The entire ride took about 9 minutes. I would love to do it again, but this time at night. I can only imagine how beautiful it would look with all of the lights twinkling in the evening sky. Tickets for Characters in Flight cost $16 for adults ages 10+ and $10 for children ages 3-9. Everyone under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Characters in Flight is wheelchair accessible; guests in ECVs must be able to transfer to the gondola, which does not have seats. There is no smoking, eating or drinking allowed on the ride and they do not allow strollers or baggage.

Safety is key and the weather restictions for this attractions are very strict.

• Winds 3 mph or less they can take 20 passengers at a time
• Winds 3-12 mph they can take 10-20 passengers
• Winds 12-22 mph they can take up to 10 passengers at a time
• Winds above 22 mph or in stormy conditions they do not run

I don’t know what the wind speed was when we rode but we had 5 guests plus the pilot on my trip. On the video you can hear when I turned into the wind, it gets very loud. I felt very safe and secure despite the wind.
