I received one or more of the products or services mentioned for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I was so excited that Mushu was going to get an interactive treat toy to review from Chewy.com. I’ve wanted to see how she would react to a puzzle type toy for a while now. She is a pretty smart dog and she enjoys playing games with us so I thought this would be a good fit for her. Mushu received the Outward Hound Kibble Drop Puzzle a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as I thought they would. At first Mushu was very interested as she watched me put some treats in the top of the puzzle. She sniffed around and pawed at the toy. I showed her that she needed to open the cover so that she could get to the treats. I left one open so that she could eat the treats. Later she came back and tried to open another section of the puzzle. She got the piece part way open but then it came down on her nose. She jumped back, afraid and went to lay down on her bed. Since thenshe will only go near this dog toy if a section is open and the treats are exposed, which defeats the reason for having a puzzle.

Of course, your dog may not be a skiddish as Mushu is. There are many positive reviews of the Outward Hound Kibble Drop Puzzle on Chewy.com so I do believe a lot of the problem is my particular dog and not the toy itself. Have you ever given your dog a treat puzzle before? How did they do with it? I’m not going to give up, I hope to get Mushu a different kind of treat toy so that she can still problem solve to get her treats.

The Bionic Ball made of Bionic Rubber which can withstand rough play by dogs of all sizes.

Mushu has been getting a bit lonely since our fall schedules kicked into gear. Jordan is on the road and the rest of us are working so that means the dog isn’t getting as much attention as she likes. We know she is lonely when she acts out (tears papers and/or drags socks and other small articles of clothing from whatever bedroom whose door wasn’t shut securely). We have tried a few things and the ones that seem to help have been to leave the radio on when we all leave the house and we have gotten her some new toys. Usually she likes toys that squeak and are soft and chewy. It took her a bit to warm up to her Bionic Ball but that has now become her favorite outdoor toy.

The Bionic Ball made of Bionic Rubber which can withstand rough play by dogs of all sizes. Mushu is a small dog, about 10 pounds so she has the small Bionic Ball. While she loves playing with her small squeaky tennis balls in the house the Bionic Ball is perfect for outdoor play because it’s innovative shape makes the bounce pattern less predictable. We often throw it against the side of the garage and depending how it hits the building the bounce is different every time.

Mushu finally got interested in really playing with the Bionic Ball when her friend BearTrap from across the street came over to play. I tossed the ball out onto the grass and they played keep away for quite a while.

Since that first game of keep away, I have found Mushu often chewing on her Bionic Ball when she is inside the house as well,

If you are looking for a dog toy for a dog of any size check out the Bionic Toys, they would make a great Christmas gift for the fur baby in your life too.
