Last month I let you know that ABC Family was airing Superbook episodes July 1-5. Now I want to share with you a review of the series and a giveaway.

Superbook Review

Parents, you may already be familiar with Superbook. The original series aired 1981-1983. I remember it being shown in Sunday School classes on VHS tapes the teachers had recorded off their televisions when I was teaching Sunday school in the late 80’s. Since then original airings it has made the rounds as a syndicated program on Christian television stations.

CBN has re-imagined Superbook for the digital generation. The new videos are done with CGI not anime and the quality rivals anything else in the kiddie market. I have shared my Superbook DVDs with adults and kids and everyone enjoyed them. Each story begins with Chris, Joy and Gizmo the robot encountering some kind of problem or moral dilemma. Then the Superbook starts flashing and the threesome is transported into a Bible story. The Bible story teaches a lesson that the kids need to learn to be able to solve their problem back at home.

The only issue we (the adults) had with the videos was the fact that the kids interacted with the Bible characters when they time traveled and…we all know that we should never do that when time traveling because we can alter the future 🙂

You can get your own Superbook DVDs by joining the Superbook DVD Club. Your kids can also play and learn on the Superbook Kids site and the all new Superbook App which is available for iPhones and Androids.

Superbook T-shirt Giveaway

Superbook Gizmo T-shirt

The giveaway is for 1 Superbook Gizmo t-shirt in Youth Medium. The winner will be chosen via Rafflecopter and emailed. The winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize. The giveaway is open to US residents only.
