Last Sunday night my family and I had the privilege of being at the premiere of Summer Nightastic at the Magic Kingdom. The Main Street Electrical Parade started at 9pm and we were lucky to find front row seats on the edge of the hub at 7:30pm. The anticipation built as the crowd on Main Street grew to 6 deep. Finally, the park lights dimmed and that first note rang through the air…the parade was coming! The Main Street Electrical Parade was all we remembered it to be, and then some. The re-mastered music, the new floats and beautiful costumes stirred memories of prior trips to Disney World. The parade lasts about 20 minutes but the joy on the faces of those who were in attendance glowed for hours to come.

After the parade was over and some of the crowd dispersed, we adjusted our location a bit to get a better view of the castle because at 10:00 was the debut of Summer Nightastic Fireworks Spectacular.  From what I understand, this is basically the fireworks show that was previously shown at the Pirate and Princess Parties complete with perimeter fireworks. We enjoyed the show…though it doesn’t have the emotional pull that Wishes does, it was nice to see something that was new to us. What made the fireworks even more enjoyable were the kaleidoscope glasses that we were given when we checked in at the event. These are similar to the glasses they used to give out at the Osborne Spectacle of Lights but these had a kaleidoscope effect. They added another huge level of excitement to the fireworks display. I didn’t see other guests with the glasses on near where we were standing and I don’t know if they were handing them out anywhere but if I were you, I’d ask a cast member working the parade where they were available because they made a great show even better.

Disclosure: We were invited to the Magic Kingdom by Walt Disney World all opinions in this post are 100% mine. If you have any questions please see my disclosure statement at the bottom of this page.
