We have all heard a lot about phantom power loss and how this is costing us money and wasting energy. I don’t know about you but I am too lazy to unplug most of my devices until I need them, I know some people who do this but it isn’t for me. Smart Strip SCG3 Energy Saving Power Strip with Autoswitching Technology
does the work for you! This innovative surge protector and 7 outlet smart strip has 3 different kinds of outlets on one strip!

I am going to be using this outlet at my desk when I re-claim my work space this week. The red outlets are “hot” outlets that are always on so I will be plugging my alarm clock into one of those. The green outlets are for devices that don’t need to draw constant power, like my printer and cell phone charger. The blue outlet activates the green outlets so I’ll plug my laptop into the blue outlet and it will turn on my printer, how cool is that? I know this is kind of hard to envision, so I did a brief demonstration video.

This device also tells you when the MOV (The actual surge protector inside) has degraded from surges so you know to replace it before it burns your house down. The Smart Strip SCG3 Energy Saving Power Strip with Autoswitching Technology features Heavy Duty 6′ White Cord, 7 Color Coded Outlets, 900 Joules of Surge Protection. These green surge protectors are made from recycled materials and save the homeowner $40 per year per surge. This strip is going to be an energy saving, eco-friendly addition to my desk area.

Disclosure: I received one Smart Strip for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% mine. This blog uses affiliate links.
