Ashley Tisdale is back as Sharpay Evans in the direct to Disney DVD movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure which hits store shelves tomorrow (4/19/11). I gave you the rundown on the movie in my sneak peek post, so today you get my review.

If you have High School Musical fans…or Sharpay fans in your house this movie should be added to your collection. I am not ashamed to admit that I am a High School Musical fan, and I enjoyed this movie. Sharpay grows up while on her fabulous adventure and she even gets to see what it is like to be the one being used and looked down upon. Sharpay is more vulnerable and with the help of the hunky Peyton, Austin Butler, she learns that if you work hard and follow your passion you will find success. Good Luck Charlie’s Bradley Steven Perry’s character Roger Elliston III is well played though the character isn’t much of a stretch from his TV persona. Of course the dogs often steal the show and both Boi and Countess are adorable.

My only question would be why Disney would release it direct to DVD and not as a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) first. Figuring that more people would see the DCOM on television and then want to add it to their library versus those that will buy it sight unseen, this decision doesn’t make sense to me.

Moms, if you have kids 7-12 who love Sharpay, this movie would be a great gift, or even an addition to their Easter basket.

Here is a peek at the scene…No Plan B.

Disclaimer: I received the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo pack of this movie for the purpose of the review. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m not really into the whole HSM thing. However, I’m glad to see Ashley in another movie.

I think I might be totally out of the Disney phase with my girls. Can’t decide how I feel about that.

I loved High School Musical – all 3 of them. Does this make me strange (at my age?) I can’t wait to watch this one, too!

After seeing Ashley on Hellcats on WB its hard to see her back on Disney. My boys are to young for the whole HSM thing and I never took time to try and watch any myself but I do watch Hellcats lol!

My boys are not into HSM, but they love Ashley Tisdale from Zack and Cody…. I’ve been meaning to check out the new WB show she is in now.
