Sesame Street defines my childhood. When Sesame Street premiered on November 10, 1969, I was a 5 year old kindergarten student at the Harborlight Kindergarten at First Baptist Church of Beverly, Massachusetts. We all went into Reverend Wilbur’s office and watched the debut on his TV. In 1969 TVs were rare in churches and we were awe-filled 5 year old just seeing a TV at church. I fell in love with Sesame Street that day. Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and Grover were my friends as were Mr Hooper, Susan, Bob, and Maria. I still own the 25th anniversary record album of Sesame Street and I raised my children singing “These are the People in my Neighborhood”, “I’ve Got Two Eyes”, and “Up and Down”. My kids grew up in the Elmo generation and have fond memories of of their furry red friend.
We all have wanted to visit Sesame Street, shop in Mr Hooper’s store and hang out at Big Bird’s nest. Well, in 2019 we can do just that! SeaWorld Orlando recently announced exciting details on a brand-new themed land, opening Spring 2019. Families will be able to walk down Sesame Street for the very first time as Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando brings the world famous street to park guests, connecting them to all of the fun, laugther and learning of Sesame Street.
“We are excited to transport our guests into the colorful and creative world of Sesame Street through immersive theming, character interactions and interactive play,” said SeaWorld Orlando President Jim Dean. “Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando is an amazing addition to our park, providing more unique and memorable experiences for the entire family.

Construction on Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando is currently underway. The new themed area will be located on the south end of the park, where Happy Harbor currently stands. Keep checking back here for updates on this exciting new land!
