I’ve told you all about “Secret of the Wings” in my previous posts. Now that I have had the opportunity to watch the Blu-ray I’m going to share my thoughts. “Secret of the Wings” looks and feels like all of the other Disney Fairies movies though this time the story is much deeper than the other movies.

On the surface, “Secret of the Wings” is a movie about Tinker Bell wanting to visit the off limits winter woods and when she does she finds out she has a sister, Periwinkle, a frost fairy. We all know that fairies are born  when a baby first laughs. In “Secret of the Wings” there is a hand-drawn looking montage that shows us how the laugh split into two fairies and one becomes a winter fairy and the other a warm weather fairy. I found it a bit difficult to follow and I doubt any young child would understand it at all. Other than that scene, the rest of the movie is well done with a few unexpected twists and turns.

You don’t have to be a Disney Fairies fan to appreciate the story of sisterly love and supportive friends. I recommend “Secret of the Wings” for any family movie night.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the Flitterific Fairies Double Pack for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% mine.
