As part of the 2013 Limited Time Magic promotion at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, each week has a different theme. Last week’s theme was “Long Lost Friends”. Walt Disney World was celebrating by having characters that are no longer park regulars available for photographs.
My husband and I had already planned to spend last Saturday at Epcot so we decided to start our day off in the Magic Kingdom to see some of our “Long Lost Friends”. As soon as we entered the park we saw that there were lines for 5 different groups of characters. We got into the line for the characters from Robin Hood. We were told by a cast member that we were in the overflow part of the line and that she doubted we would get out picture taken during this session. We chose to wait anyway. We waited about 30 minutes and moved up so we were 4th in line when it was time for the characters to take a 25 minute break. We stood in line and finally after an hour wait, I got my picture taken with Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Little John and Prince John!
While we were waiting we realized we weren’t going to be able to wait to see all of the “Long Lost Friends” because the lines were too long 🙁 After my picture with the Robin Hood characters we took pictures of a lot of the other characters (Ludwig Von Drake, Scrooge McDuck, The Big Bad Wolf & The Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, Geppetto & Jiminy Cricket and Clarabelle Cow & Horace Horsecollar). I was able to get in the relatively short line for Clarabelle and Horace and get my photo taken with them just before it was time for another break.
Next, we headed over to Epcot where we were surprised to see more “Long Lost Friends” hanging out by the American Pavillion. We saw Max, Gideon, King Louie, a penguin from Mary Poppins, Mr Smee, Suzy & Perla, and Big Al! It was an extra special treat to see these characters at Epcot! Since we were going for “Long Lost Friends” week, I wore my “Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit” shirt in honor of another long lost friend, Kitchen Kabaret.

Woah. You are certainly more dedicated than I would be. That is a long wait. Although, I’m glad they brought those characters back for people to enjoy.

What fun! There’s a lot of those characters that I would have stayed in line to see too. On a Disney Yahoo Board, someone was just asking if Robin Hood was ever at the parks again. I hope she was able to see him.

Most of the long lost friends I recognized but I admit I had to google Kitchen Kabaret. I saw the Duck Tales sign and immediately started singing “D-d-d-danger, watch behind you – there’s a stranger out to find you. What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo! Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!”
