We just got back from our annual family Christmas trip to Walt Disney World. This is my favorite time to visit because of all of the beautiful decorations. One of our favorite things to do is to check out the decorations in the resorts. This year our schedule only permitted time to visit 1 resort so, of course, we chose the Grand Floridian.

The tree in the Grand Floridian is more than 3 stories tall and it is all decked out in white lights and Victorian ornaments.

Behind the tree is a life size gingerbread house! The house is made with 1,050 pounds of honey, 700 pounds of chocolate, 600 pounds of powdered sugar…it takes about 400 hours to bake the gingerbread and another 160 hours to decorate! Inside the house you can purchase gingerbread treats!

Every Disney resort has special decorations and I advise you to visit as many as you can. Our favorites are The Grand Floridian, The Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, The Contemporary and The Yacht Club. Here is a video showing them assembling the 17ft gingerbread Christmas tree at The Contemporary!

Merry Christmas!
