When you add your own goodies in the below linky it will show up on their linky, too! If you have a blog, feel free to grab the code at the bottom of the linky and add it to your own holiday post! The more the merrier! Link up anything holiday related! We want you to share your recipes, gift ideas, giveaways, holiday deals and more! Inappropriate links will be deleted.

For our family Thanksgiving meal at my mom’s house I am bringing a Root Beer Float Cake. I made this a few weeks ago for our harvest meal at church and it was a huge hit! My sister saw my picture on Facebook and asked me to bring it for Thanksgiving, so I am. My friend, Kim saw my Pinterest Pin of this recipe on Facebook and she made it for her family too. They loved it so much it became the “recipe of the day” on TheJoyFM Morning Cruise, where her husband and my son work!

Root Beer Float Cake Ingredients

: Root Beer Float Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Yellow Cake Mix
  • 12 fluid oz Root Beer
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 TBS root beer
  • 1 zip top bag

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease and flour a 10″ bundt pan (I just sprayed with Pam and it worked fine)
  3. In a medium bowl mix together cake mix, 12oz root beer, oil and eggs until smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Once cool move to serving plate, poke holes in cake at 2″ intervals using a ling skewer.
  7. Make root beer glaze: Place confectioners’ sugar and 3 TBS root beer in zip top bag, seal the bag, knead until well mixed,
  8. Snip a corner off the zip top bag with scissors and drizzle the glaze over the cake.
