Acclaimed singer/songwriter Matthew west has released his first, full length Christmas project titled The Heart Of Christmas . The album contains an even mix of six recognizable Christmas songs and original holiday tunes penned by West, as well as guest appearances from notables such as Vince Gill, Amy Grant and Mandisa. I cannot stop listening to this album. It is the perfect mix of classic and original songs, upbeat and laid back tunes all in perfect Matthew West style.

Track List:

  1. Come On, Christmas-A fun upbeat song expressing the anticipation of the season
  2.  Jingle Bells
  3.  The Heart Of Christmas-a call to remember the true meaning of Christmas
  4. Leaving Heaven (featuring Vince Gill)-an country-ish song about why Jesus is leaving heaven and coming to earth
  5. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
  6. One Last Christmas-a tearjerker based on a true story about a young cancer patient
  7. Silent Night (Interlude)
  8. Give This Christmas Away (featuring Amy Grant)-from VeggieTales: Saint Nicholas – A Story of Joyful Giving-2009
  9. O, Holy Night
  10.  Christmas Makes Me Cry (featuring Mandisa)-a poignant song of remembrance
  11. Oh, Come All Ye Faithful
  12.  Day After Christmas-reminding us that Jesus is still here after Christmas is over
This is my favorite new Christmas CD of the season! If you are lucky you can catch Matthew west and Mandisa in The Heart of Christmas Tour (I am not so lucky, there are no Florida dates on the tour 🙁 )
December 1st – Sioux Falls, SD
December 2nd – Lincoln, NE
December 3rd – Littleton, CO
December 4th – McAlester, OK
December 7th – Jackson, TN
December 9th – Broadview Heights, OH
December 10th – Louisville, KY
December 11th – Baltimore, MD
December 15th – Elgin, IL
December 16th – Rolling Meadows, IL
December 17th – Gary, IN

In addition to the record and tour, a holiday film of the same name will debut on GMC based off of West’s viral Christmas hit “One Last Christmas” about the true story of young cancer patient Dax Locke. The film will debut on GMC Sunday December 4 at 7 & 9pm EST.
