Gnomeo & Juliet opens today in theaters across the country. Last night we had a chance to see the movie in 3D and we had a great time!

I really didn’t know what to expect and honestly the trailers and ads I had seen left me not too excited to see another Romeo & Juliet remake. We were all pleasantly surprised.

The movie does a great job of staying true to the themes in the original story, but with a happier ending. There are a lot of funny moments in the movie and often the theater was filled with laughter. There is something for everyone in this movie from young children through adults. I brought my 15yr old son and his best friend and they both enjoyed the movie as much as my husband and I did.

The soundtrack of Elton John music was awesome! I even caught my husband singing the lyrics to songs playing in the background. Throughout the movie there are several nods to the works of William Shakespeare which had us giggling as they appeared in the film. The cameos by Dolly Parton, Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan were all great too.

If your children are begging you to see this movie do it! Your entire family will love it-we already can’t wait to own it when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Are you planning on seeing this film? Have you already seen it? Leave me a comment and let me know.

We received 4 tickets to see an advanced screening of the movie. All opinions are 100% mine.

I still don’t know about this movie. We will probably wait until it comes out on DVD to see it. I am a little sick of always hearing Elton John in stores wherever I go.

My kids loved this too! Danielle, I didn’t even notice (well, except for one part) that Elton did the sound track.
