When I was planning Ron’s 50th birthday trip to Walt Disney World I wanted to add a table service meal or two. We seldom do table service because of the cost. We usually stay off property so we don’t get the Disney Dining Plan either. Since it was Ron’s birthday I splurged and made ADRs at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom and Sci-fi Dine in Theater. I’ll tell you about Sci-Fi in a different post.
The Liberty Tree Tavern
Our ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) was at 2:15pm for a late lunch. We arrived at Liberty Tree Taven just a few minutes early and were greeted by a lovely hostess outside the restaurant who guided us to check-in with the inside hostess. Once we were checked in we waited in the lobby area for about 20 minutes until a hostess called out for the “Schultz family from the territory of Florida!” We were seated in the Paul Revere room, one of 6 historically themed rooms depicting an important person from the Colonial Era. The other rooms are George Washington, Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, Thomas Jefferson, and John Paul Jones. I was raised in New England and I LOVE the Colonial Era so I felt like I had gone back home, being surrounded by beautiful colonial artifacts and woodworking.
Our waiter was wonderful and very attentive. Ron ordered the New England Pot Roast and I ordered the Pilgrims’ Feast. Other highlights on the menu include Sweet Corn Fritters with house-made pepper jelly, New England Clam Chowder, Freedom Pasta with Grilled Chicken, and The Liberty Boys Sandwich.
Dining at the Liberty Tree Tavern will use 1 table service credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan. If you are paying cash lunch entrees cost between $14-24 for adults making this a reasonably priced table service restaurant. The service was excellent. I asked for a little extra gravy for my turkey and our waiter brought me a gravy boat full of gravy! Our waiter also noticed Ron’s birthday button and brought him a cupcake with a candle on it for dessert.
Dinner time dining is family style. Your meal includes a Declaration Salad, the Patriot’s Platter-Roasted Turkey Breast, Pot Roast, Sliced Tavern Ham with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Herb Stuffing and Johnny Appleseed’s Tart for dessert. Dinner prices for adults vary by season and range between $31.99-$38.33 per person.
We enjoyed our lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was good home cooking, comfort food. I’d like to go back for dinner some time in the future, I’ll have to add that to my list!
